~_~ I can't take Jennifer Hale in another role if she's there... And dear god, I'll cry if they get JYB or Wendee Lee for another role... Though to me Lightening doesn't sound quite close enough to be Debbie Mae West... I totally do not hear Meryl there.

Regarding Carbuncle, Siren and Ifrit I think something was leaked from the next Famitsu issue that they won't be summons, at least not how Shiva, Odin and Surt (nickname for now, he's a god but I can't exactly remember from where).
Apparently they are in the game but they have a different use... and the new trailer kinda confirms that with Carbuncle seeming more of an attraction than an actual Eidolon.
Used in the growth system, minigame, whatever? Who knows, but they apparently don't transform (how would they anyway? They're not machines).

makes sense for Siren and Ifrit, they dont appear to have very gestalt-able forms...

Surtr demands that you brush up on your Norse mythology.
Am I alone in not feeling hyped for this game at all? While I enjoyed every Final Fantasy from 6 onward (haven't played any earlier iterations, save for some of FF1 which was predictably simple, though mildly enjoyable), it seems like a bit of magic has seeped out of every game with every new release...which is odd, because I felt the same way about FFXII while still enjoying it more than FFX. I feel moderate trepidation at the release of this game, because from every trailer it seems like the story aims for a sickly resemblance to epic grandeur rather than designs on plain being an enjoyable story. I'm actually more excited for FFXIII: Versus than I am for this game.

it could just be a case of infomation overload..
but apparently they love to do that in Japan. you start off knowing too much of the game even before you play it, and it kinda dulls the hype on it... cos you know what to expect and dont think too much or hope too much on what might happen.
I didn't used to be hyped by XIII at all, but when I played the demo, it took my breath away, and I still knew shit of what is going on..
playing in a language comfortable/native to you makes a huge difference.. I get a totally different feel playing in JP and EN for each FF that I've played.. I can understand JP enough to play.. but even then, its nowhere as comfortable as EN would be..
i say, if you're not hyped, don't look at the game at all.. just pick it up and put it in when it does release... you'd probably be more hyped that way.

i'm personally thinking of girl power already.. Lightning / Vanille / Fang...
then again it depends on whether their weapons affect their range capability or something..

If you notice... the summons always are the opposite sex of the summoner. Snow and Shiva, Lightning and Odin, Oerba and Bahamut, Sahz and Brunhilde.
Anyway, my party is going to ultimately be what it always is. Use everyone equally and grind.

Well I'm going to use every character too during the game but you can't take everyone to the final battle.

That's what they always say... but in XII you could. As could you in X. I believe the modern pattern has moved to you can use everyone at any time. If it wasn't for the fact you could use 6 people at once... I'd have lost the final fight in XII cause I got 1 shotted every time I got someone up, so by the time I was ready for a quickening chain I had a party of people at 10 hp a pop, and no one survived more than 2 hits with bubble. I beat it at 55 btw.

i'm gonna call it now.. there will be a gay eidolon somewhere lol.
It doesnt matter which party i say i choose in the end lol.. cos ultimately, (at least in the English version) i will level them all to max and get everything.. I love to aim for Perfect Game.
not so for the Japanese tho..

What is with you and gay magical creatures, Spira? D:
If there is one, it's gonna be Unicorn.

There's an extreme lack of pictures of robot unicorns with rainbows in the background on the internet...

Hey guys, after reading the latest info about Versus XIII a quote suddenly jumped out at me.
http://www.andriasan...ff_versus_xiii/
Now, it is quite common in vampire story lines to have a ring (usually made of Lapis Lazuli eg. The vampire diaries) to allow a vampire to walk in the sunlight.
Being a vampire would explain Noctis' super-human abilities, speed, evil red eyes when he is using his power.
Also remember, the fangs don't appear on a vampire unless they want to eat someone
Take a look at the trailer for Versus XIII and imagine as you watch *Vampire??*
Thoughts on my theory?
After the twilight fans....
Could you see Final Fantasy taking this route?
Would you like to see this route taken?
PS: This is all speculation. We know VERY little about the game so these "ideas" are pretty far-fetched.
I just read the article and thought OMG... & he seems fits the part of a vampire quite well, I think. Of course, there are some abilities that aren't very generic of vampires there, but this is Final Fantasy, they always jazz stuff up

Nomura said that Noctis does not wear accessories like necklaces and earrings. The only accessory he wears is a ring on his right hand. This ring is worn as part of the story.

It makes sense in a realistic setting but this is Final Fantasy where reality itself is a fantasy.. I wouldn't be surprised if Noctis was able to do all the things he could for a number of other reasons that being a vampire. Hell, Yuna in FFX could summon mythical beasts! maybe shes a demon?

At no point in the past have we ever needed an explanation as to why fantasy characters can do "stuff." Adding one now would be a supreme cop out =/ I can't really recall a time where I was up all night trying to figure out how Cloud could call forth meteors from his sword or how Blitzball players were capable of staying under water so long.
