I've been duoing for awhile. I'm not an expert, since I look for advice too, but what kinda info are you looking for? Helps to go into a bit of detail so people know how to answer.

I haven't duo'd much with other Pups (Mostly with my Bst friend 49+), but these were the camps that I thought were nice while solo'ing.

22-25 Goblins in Buburimu
26-29 Clippers in Qufim
29-30 Crawlers in Rolanberry
31-33 Clippers in Korroloka (usually heavily camped by Bsts, but it's really nice when you've got the place to yourself)
33-36 Bats and Goblins near the E-11 Entrance in Oldton Movalpolos
36-40 Beetles in East Altepa
40-44 Worker Crawlers (Near the entrance of CN where people don't usually camp)
45-47 Nest Beetles in CN

Now from this point I spent most of my time lvl'ing with my Bst friend.
47-50 Beetles in West Altepa near Revelation Rock
51-54 Sahagin in SSG past the Mythril Door
54-57 Bats and Beetles in GC's basement.

And that's where I stand now, 57Pup. I exp as /War, so you guys might be able to take some tougher mobs than I was able to kill with /Nin duo. I hope this helps some.

As a solo pup, i went wherever there was small, tough mobs. I did ok chaining and when i duo'd i killed the same mobs. At lvl 28-31ish go to yhaotor. Your stormwaker will now have cure 3 so healing will be much better. From there either pt or go to bibiki perhaps. I usually solo'd until i couldnt find toughs or even matches. then i lfg'd

I duo'd with a bst for 45ish lvls before she got tired of bst and now we static on her whm im 64 now. if u duo with a bst all i can tell you is east altepa is like your home for a while when we hit the 30's we started duoing there, whats nice is once one type of mob is no longer viable to exp on u can move on to the next, for us i think we started with spiders, and then moved on to beetles, then to dhalmels.

in the teens we did the maze of shakrami and we were chaining 7's on T's we flew threw the teens like nothing then i think from there we moved to jugner, also towards the end in the late 30s early 40's we moved to missareux coast and killed those fly traps (slightly dangerous but if u keep it together should be ok)

as far as tips for duoing: gear on eva and enmity and sub nin if u can, this is what i did and it helped, there were times where a T dhalmel would whiff at me for like 5 attacks before he'd strike a shadow (without flash on it) keep your eva as high as you can. acc food helps on hate too. I suggest as i said before nin sub if ure gonna go pseudo tank route I say that because everyone trades hate, the bst subbed whm for emergency cures, and usually we'd all come out of the fights in good shape, with a strobe the puppet can tank in a pinch and eventually the bst can have their pets ghetto voke.

my bst friend forgoed chr gear and went all out str and attk gear and used jug pets.

Now as far as your automaton, you can vary it up, Valor edge can dd and tank, and i used this frame mainly, i eventually got the whm head and would occasionally rotate that in depending on what we fought. while the whm puppet helps keep everyone alive, it will put more stress on the bst's pet so bear that in mind. if u do end up using whm puppet grab a scanner so the puppet focuses on cures and regen (and will barely ever enfeeb)

if you need any more info let me know^^/

I have a friend that I've been duoing with since the 30s and we used the Harle head and storm body till 40 then got soulsoother and been using that ever since. Basically we will /nin and gear up like a tanking nin with a balance of Acc Eva and Damage equips. Between bouncing and sharing the hate and the evasion (both gear and traits) we have little to no down time and can chain 3-4 easily. As we start coming to the end of a camps life, we will run out of mobs in certain camps. Try and wait to engage your pup till it is right next to the mob or they will fill the mages roll and stand back and just toss spells. They can bring some nice damage from melee hits if they are in range (Knockout does about 200-250 for me). Letting VE tank is good in certain setups but I've never seen my auto cure my partners and we felt is was just unneeded down time for us, when with Econimizer and Refresh up at all times the Soulsoother just works better for us.

yeah with volt gun the mage frames can do some good dmg, but if you go that route i highly recomend a stealth screen, because ive had my mage frames pull hate way too often for my liking, if you have the money for oils, its not a big deal, and potentially better, I always tried to stretch my oils out as much as possible. I still preferred VE for is pinch tanking which saved us a lot. another problem ive had with whm is that is always favored me over my partner too so sometimes it wasnt always reliable (this was before i used scanner though so if u have it it might be better for you)

they both have strong potential, it really depends on how much dmg you take, I usually had tank over the bst so with high eva and nin sub i didnt get hurt too bad, so cures werent as neccesary for us, but based on the gear set up i saw there wasnt a lot of eva which means shes probably getting hit a lot so whm may be better.

Its all a matter of play style.
as far as camps:

we moved around a lot from the teens till 20- maze of shakrami (this is probably the best place if its dead on your server like it is on mine)
in the 20's we did jugner there is an amazing camp north of the outpost by the large lake
we then moved to batalia downs and fought tigers but i imagine rolanberry would be equally good
in the 30's we used eastern altepa and stayed thre for a good long time, theres SO much you can lvl off of there, and you can take the weaker VT's as we chained those too.
in the 40s we started going misareux coast and lvld near the waterfall on crabs and pugils, we did a brief stint on fly traps near riverne
we eventually went back to the desert in the mid 40's then my partner got tired of bst, and i started pty play on pup

I did an overhaul on gear and have a similar setup to tes now I just use a weaker/faster weapon for quicker tp and ws's

I went by that page, picking the camps that were not normally camped. Then, I added 3-4 to each of the level ranges. Worked like a charm. Never had a problem finding a camp.

Just curious as to what frame combinations you used and where, *edit to make me not sound stupid*
were you always /war? or did you occasionally sub whm or nin for some slight self healing / damage mitigation?

when duoing i swapped between whm puppet and valoredge

as for subs, Id reccomend war sub if you're using whm bot soloing, because i find my puppet easily pulls hate even with stealth screen up. also the water maneuvers to keep stealth working better can make it use na spells at bad oppotunities so u can keep him focused on curing with light onry, also i really recomend the scanner so he doesnt waste mp on enfeebs. Voke will help ensure it leaves your bot alone and frees it up to melee as well

now if you're duoing (and i assume you are) use nin sub, because most likely, you and your partner will trade hate back and forth and if his puppet is valor edge theres no chance of your whm bot getting hate unless its meleeing as well as curing.

drg is a viable sub too for suoing as long as you dont mind taking stray hits, you get an accuracy bonus and the jumps help tp ive used this in duoing and have found it useful too. which you use is a matter of preference most use nin. whm is viable too but in duo parties hate control (or lack thereof) is important and cures tend to pull a lot of hate. Before hate stabilizes youve probably lost all the hp u just regained, and possibly more. Regen is good when working with shadows if u can cycle em good.

My only dismissal to the VE puppet was the fact that the other Automation wouldn't cure it. It just really didn't work out so well for me but that's just me. I've never had an issue with the puppet taking hate off me other than when I want it to. That could be in part to the Merits I have active I'm not sure. Basically tinker around with the puppets and see what works for you ^^

awesome, thanks! right now im working on getting my nin from 73 to 75 and capping the exp on it before i get going fully on pup... right now im 31PUP so sadly the whm frame is not an option for me, would you think the valor/waker setup would be viable for a pup/war in the above camps? or should I go Full Stormwaker?

im just trying to get some input so i dont run through Korrolkola Tunnel only to die in my first fight XD

thanks again!

that setup would be fine i guess youll have to watch your puppet's hate because hes gonna run up to melee, I dont reccomend this combo if the enemy likes to AOE (goblins, etc), but it can get the job done on mobs like beatles and spiders

I stuck with valoredge as he ussually was fine until we really needed to rest and the autorepairs helped in healing and if your oils are up to date you can have your valor edge tank fully and still have it recover hp (i tried this and was like "whoah! wth!)

but yeah use what works best for you, I love valor edge because im a main pld so maybe im just partial to it, I also used a lot of def boosting attachs (stoneskin, replicator, eva boosts and both armor plates) he'd still need rest every 3 or so fights but hed be fine. if you're in a hurry the whm will cut down time with cures.

Another consideration: if you're both pups you could both go StormWalker, seeing as no setup besides the soulsoother will allow u to cure a pty mate, this will allow u to have mp, just watch the nukes, and equip a scanner, i used this set up for early soloing and it worked fine he barely ever pulled hate

Pre-40 I went solely with Stormwaker/Stormwaker unless I was skilling Ranged.
Post-40 I work with Soulsoother/Stormwaker nearly all the time. Sometimes a second Bst friend would come along, and I'd use Stormwaker/Stormwaker for the extra damage since the damage taken by the Bsts and I were minimal.
As for sub, I always sub /War. I have /Whm leveled, but I use it only for BC's and other occasions. I'm not a fan of /Nin personally and I don't have it leveled at all.

Thanks for the input, yeah i went ahead and gave it a whirl last night
full stormwaker and very glad i did... i took some beatings and it was only by the graces of my automaton that i survived them XD

there is one piece of advice i want to give to anyone reading this and thinking.. "yeah I can do that"

Don't equip eraser.. yeah it sounds like a good idea to have it there for if you get STR down from a crab or slow from a pugil... but i Found that i was trying to throw some extra light manuvers so I would get cures sooner, and Eraser would activate and I overloaded a few times because of it...

I found myself keeping a cycle of Water, Light, Dark Manuvers going

water for enmity minus
light for sooner cures
dark for refresh XD

I did equip the scanner to see if it would enfeeble less, and it really seemed manuver based... if there wasnt a light manuver active when i deployed and i wasnt super low on health it'd go with a blind or a bio

well thats the notes i had from last night... Can't wait to go back but got some salvage and sky to do in the meantime wink.gif

it will still occasionally enfeeb but its very rare, and i think if you leave a light maneuver up it might dia, in my experience, it will regen me instead of enfeebling if i have a light up
