You are wrong because people wouldn't quit doing it. It is great way to XP while seeking etc etc and will continue to be popular without the threat of losing your rank. Losing medals is a stupid idea and it is more than a couple battles to keep your medal.

I would say 5 + is more accurate and more as you get higher.

1-2 CBs at a set time a day; I'd say you'd be set tops from losing your medals. : It's not like "OMG these CB's take forever I don't want to do them anymore!" deal. Hell, just spreading out your CD's within the month time & you'll be able to have it if you dun have all the time in the world. That, or you dun prefur to do all them at once. Hell, even a few easy/solo Campaign Ops can do it for you too.

It depends on your performance, if you suck and are getting 500 xp per battle dont expect to rank as fast as the people busting out 2k+ xp.

Dun forget, it also depends on how late you get in as well as how long the CB lasts as well. So even if you're on time when the battle starts, some people only get about 500 or so.

  • This thing goes beyond 75?
  • PipPipPipPipPip
Also, remember, blood tanking seems to be the best way to bust the 2k+ mountain, since it is unlimited point gain potential in campaign.

Even with my thf solo tanking and letting it get hurt, the most I get on my 75 thf is around 1.4k a wave of beastmen. I evaluate after every wave, since my thf usually hits a cap at that point.

I am also stuck on the holy knight rank until the update, got about 20-21 days on evaluation, so hopefully its in early march where I can rank up, since I have like 15k xp into the medal, and he still says its not enough, I am like screw that noise.

Drucifer :
It only takes about 4hrs of gameplay in WoTG >>per month<< to rank up, 45 min or so to maintain rank i think thats a fair balance of penalty for not playing and punishment for deserting.

It depends on your job.

As a White Mage, I consider it a very good campaign if I actually get close to 1000 points. I was just involved in one that went over an hour, and pulled in about 2000 points. And I started getting impatient with the promotion rate about 8k points ago (that was well after I'd already received the "You can keep your rank" message from the evaluator).

So four hours isn't going to cut it.

Current rank is the emblem with two squiggles, btw.

I'm sick of people accepting SE's bullshit lack of content and defending them. There is clearly a problem and if you think that Wotg is fine then you are fucking delusional.

lol I just had the same problem and I didn't realize that after gaining 15-16k worth of limit points in campaign that there was no wings medals added yet.
I feel so dumb. ><

Orson :
I understand the point of it not being perfect at release thus the reason why I haven't really participated much in it. The missions can be soloed in a day and you could basically experience all of what WoTG had to offer in about a week if you didn't care about getting your medals right off the bat.

Maybe the penalties for switching nations were less then I anticipated I'll give the system that much. The grinding that I'm talking about is the same as kings or einherjar it punishes people for not having enough game play time. Everything is "grinding" in this game but at least you aren't penalized for missing a day here or there (as long as your LS isn't a group of asshats.) If you already do Limbus, Dynamis, Sea, Sky, Merits, etc. and you have limited time it can be tough to do even if it is only 3 minutes every day.

The point is SE shouldn't punish people for not playing. It's already bad enough a player with limited time to play has to play catch up to other players. They shouldn't be given even more hurtles to pass. Grinding is also the reason why FFXI isn't accessible for new players. It takes for ever to build up and get even the old gear almost none of which can be done solo. Would you really want to start playing FFXI if your character was deleted and all your friends quit? Seriously it's a fun game but it takes forever to get anything done and everyone has pretty much solidified into their little cliques. SE makes little effort to make the game more accessible for new players or players with limited time. Even just leveling another job is a fairly time consuming affair when you think about. How long it actually takes to source the best gear and merits for one job? There's paying your dues and then there's plain tedious SE is good at the latter.

SE needs to stop worrying so much about pissing off the players who have been camping Fafnogg for 4 yrs straight and actually make more things easier to obtain like Thief's Knife.

QFMFT

I love Campaign so far and am looking forward to the new additions. It is far better than the failure that is Aht Urghan. It is still in it's infancy, give it time to see alot of cool new stuff.

However, SE needs to quit sucking the dick of the people who have 4 level 75 jobs and figure how to recruit some new players and give lower levels something to do. Eventually all the people jerking off in Whitegate will get tired of paying $12.95 to hang in their little cliques and quit but there will be no new player base.

well my medal expired so i went to talk to the officer and the good news is i still got my medal.

If i understood what she meant is i get a new seal (30days) and can't get evaluation until 5 days (like a normal campaign).

But all the work i did from when i got the rank and now is lost (but i still keep my AN).

Which means that expiring medal does nothing -.-

People find the funniest things to complain about... It takes about 4k exp worth of Campaign Battle on average to rank up, that's about 2 Jugner Forest Campaigns which start what? every 15 minutes? They usually don't take even an hour, so you're looking at roughly 2 hours of work maybe a month which also gets you about 4-6k exp, if you can't do that then omg you lose a medal which you can get back 5 days later, if you decide to get off your ass and do some campaign that is.

People worry about losing medals but they aren't willing to put in 2 hours of their time a month to keep it? Yes, surely, you have a LS event every hour of everyday and can't spare 2 hours a month, if that's the case tell the person running your LS to get a life, srsly. You can't put that much time into keeping it then you shouldn't sweat it. If the case is you're too busy in RL to spare that much time a month you shouldn't be playing the game, so just quit.

I personally really don't care for systems that punish you for taking breaks. I don't know about you; but I find that sometimes I need to put FFXI away and do something else from time to do. WotG rank evaluation directly punishes this. Its very sloppy and it makes Campaign less appealing to returning players who have gotten involved with it before.

As it stands right now, I'm taking a break from the game. I only log in to make Salvage runs because thats what I agreed upon when I joined that group. Any free time I have is spent farming AP so that I can continue to do Salvage. I simply do not have the time to stand around in Jugner and punch the same twelve monsters who attack the fortification every 20 minutes.

So you take breaks for an entire month at a time where you aren't willing to log in even for say... an hour total? (A bit of Jugner forest 1 day, a few ops another day?) but you're actually concerned about your medal? It doesn't sound like you put much interest in Campaign if that's the case, so just let it go, take the loss of a medal, it really doesn't give THAT big of a bonus, as of now the biggest advantage to getting a medal is better Ops but it doesn't sound like most people complaining are big Campaigners so I'd think you could let 1 medal go.

You ultimately lose access to an Op that gives an extra like... 50 exp per run, that's your punishment, it isn't all that harsh, the only items worth getting are the Sprinters shoes which are basic AN items, you don't need 2nd or 3rd rank to get those. The lvl 55 equip is good but how many people here are taking up a job that is 50-55 right now? Not many, you don't get any (visible) reduction during a Campaign battle itself, even if the cap is smaller you can refresh your tag once and you're good.

I've been gone for two months. How many medals do you think I have lost? Just two?

It's kind of sad that I'm going to have to redo what I've already done, just because I needed a break from the game.
