It's kind of sad that I'm going to have to redo what I've already done, just because I needed a break from the game.

Like I said you hardly lose anything more then a slightly better Campaign Op, medals are more like a reward for players that work hard at Campaign there isn't even a need to complain until missions and whatever new battle field comes out from WoTG require higher medals to access. Since we don't know if they will yet, there isn't a reason to complain and you can bet that if they do require medals people will start paying more attention to Campaign just like assaults/salvage/anything else in the game.

But until then medals are simply a small side reward for people that frequent Campaign that allow you to do slightly better Ops and get items with AN that, for the most part, aren't even worth it (rank 3 items are pretty crappy).

In theory to get the higher lvl gear you'll need the higher ranks. Also we have no idea how long it could take to build up those final levels. Do all the medals require the same amount to rank up? If not I'd be worried that getting the higher ones could be more like having to do 4-5 hrs of campaign a week. Granted adding stuff like beastmen strongholds and newer ops could increase the amount of points towards your next rank but we just don't know. Ultimately how much faith do you have in SE not to fuck up?

When your current medal wears out, you need to have it re-examined.
You do not lose the medal until it is re-examined and you fail that examination, you only have a medal that you cant use.

Thus, I would say you'll only lose one medal.

Why is it so hard for people to comprehend that you can take a 50-year break from the game and still only lose one medal? It seems to me that people complaining about the rank-up system are just grasping for every last flawed detail in it to somehow prove SE fucked up. When i first heard about ranking down from not doing it, I thought it was retarded.

But really, you lose maybe 4-5 hours of gameplay after 30 days of not doing Campaign, which is like, 10 minutes to play a day. You probably lose way more playtime of that through the xp you get ganked out of in Dynamis. Let's complain about Dynamis too! Oh wait, we already do. Er, anyway, you get my point- you're not losing nearly as much playtime as you're twisting it to seem like it is. I'm a very casual player and I hardly find Campaign to be ridiculous.

Campaign Ops can kiss my ass though. People keep taking all the Ops and logging off so they can do them when they next get on. But that way, nobody else can have them.

Addendum: I'm sure nobody would be complaining if SE took out the system of losing your rank, but the way it is, it's not a huge flaw that complete destroys the system. If you hate it so much, just don't do it right now- it's not like Campaign has any real notable rewards at the moment.

All you need to do to get the next medal is do slightly more than you did to get your current one. If you fail one, that amount is reset.
Higher up Ops most likely do account towards more when getting your next medal (or maybe doing ones you've yet to?), or else I can find little reasoning towards why I kept getting medals when doing vertually teh same each time (though campaign battles could probably cause alot of difference).
I think getting the highest rewards may to some sort of external reward like an end game event), so it probably will be harder to get new medals. But then again, they may just put all the rewards on teh AN items and just make it so you need alot of AN to get them...

I don't think SE will fuck it up. They don't usually fuck up such things. They just take their sweet time adding them.

As for losing medals. You should take into account that they added something to give you an extra ID tag for Assault. No reason why, once you've done a certain pre-quest, that they stop you from losing medals altogether.

Not true. I did a hour of battling/ops for my current medal... just spent the past 5 hours and did 7 ops and not even off of them wanting to confiscate it yet. -.- I think it might be bugged -.-

No way you got a medal with just an hours work unless it was your first or you failed last one...

OK i have a question and this seems like the best place to put it.

Im not the highest rank, I did 9 Ops and 8k worth of battles. and yet it wouldnt let me rank up i didnt want to lose my medel which expired that day so i had to start over. Im on a Star 2 and i dont know why its taking me so long to rank up.

Id apricate if someone could lay it down straight what it takes to rank up because i started to read this thread then i got to the fighting then skipped to down here

Is the Holyknight Emblem still the highest rank you can get at the moment for campaign? I recently tried to get promoted and it said I have the highest rank available right now. Just making sure I didn't do something wrong cuz I thought there was an update to ranks in the March update...

There is definately a penalty worked into the system for not doing campaign, the ammount of work to rank goes up every 5 days it seems, i busted my ass for 3 days when my medal was about to expire (last 5) to finaly get to just keep it. I ended eval and did 4-5 campaign battles in the next 3 days and had my rank up waiting for me @ the turnover day.

Don't love it but its not so unfair and no need to cry all over the forums about it.
