Hi, I'm a A20 rank digger. At least I think I am at that rank. It is kind of hard to tell.
I've been at that level for a very long time but I went without testing.

How exactly do you start timing? I always counted in my head when 15secs came up from the time I could see the chat log and I could dig at 15 but then I started using /wait 15 /dig macro and it wouldn't dig. Is the suppose to start when you can first use a macro or when you see the chocobo Icon at top of screen?

Another question is...is it worth raising a chocobo with higher stats that apply for digging? I always thought this may have been a nerf to slow down RMT from digging up better items but I haven't ran across anything on the forums yet that people made any claims of this. I know before the big digging nerf I used to be able to get 4-5gold beastcoins in a run, maybe 1-2 Orichalcum ores. Even getting 3-4 Philosopher's stones at a time was common. I haven't seen many of these things as of late.

I think your best best for choco-digging, is to look on ffxiclopedia. I've never found a ton of info anyway, but that will be your best bet. I think I remember seeing a chart for timing/rank.

I use

/dig
/clockon

macro and spam it as soon as i enter another area, then you can see at what time the server counts your first attempt dig.
