You need to spend some time reading the rest of the COR forums, it's been shown at least a couple time, for a couple people who just don't listen that single wield Joyeuse will produce faster TP than dual wielding it; In a burn pt that's what counts.
Anyone remember what threads those would be found in? I'm not gonna do your homework for you.

I'll explain it to you in friendly and simple terms, if you choose not to listen and to continue DWing, that's your business, but you'll be doing it wrong.
Joyeuse has around a 50% chance to attack twice. When you wield a second weapon with it, you're almost doubling the amount of time between the Joyeuse swinging. The extra attack from the weapon in your other hand and the delay reduction from dual weild still do not result in more TP or more DoT because you're slowing down swings from a weapon with a very high DA rate.
The reason other jobs (such as a DD PLD/NIN) offhand Joyeuse and mainhand a higher damage weapon is because they use Sword WS and need a high base damage to get the best out of it. This does not apply to COR however, as they WS with their gun.
You don't have to take this advice, but before you come back with an argument to try to discredit this, do a search for similar topics in the COR forum history, then consider the following things:
No one in this thread agrees with you, and everyone is telling you you're wrong.
No one agreed with the others who dual wielded on the other threads either, and they were proven wrong, too.
Even if you can't (or don't want to) do the math to prove it to yourself, take our word for it.

Ok, I'll give it a whirl and take your advice. Sorry if i seemed grouchy. Bad day today, Thanks for breaking it down arkley.
I know from like on my blu I dual wield /nin because I spell cast a lot so and no DA weapon.
BTW since I can prolly get the answer now, Phantom Fleuret = what? pointless to get or just a mediocre sword? the RATK looks hot.
To Star: Oh and hitting 75 cor D: took many dumb pts and like 3 good ones to finish the grind to 75. Lot of issues just stem from the people who always like to camp of another pt at bird camp making the exp horrible XD

Martial Gun is 80-100k on my server now, that's not even worth bothering with IMO.

Agreed, with Martial Gun's price dropping so sharply and melee being the optimal method for building TP, along with Corsair's gun being better for QD damage and Peacemaker better for QD accuracy, Coffinmaker seems pretty redundant these days. Makes me sad I spent all that time getting one.

It's gimped though, it doesn't kill anyone in one hit like it did in Goldeneye 007 D:

Slug shot is a very innaccurate WS naturally, but the more TP you have, the more accurate it becomes. Firing a 100% TP Slug with Martial gun is basically like firing a 200% TP Slug; it's way more accurate, far moreso than the R.ACC on Coffinmaker would make it. Martial gun allows you to reliably fire Slugs at 100%, whereas the only advantage to Coffee maker is that it has a minute 1 more WDMG.

oh well i tought 75 gears would grant me enough racc to land those with a fairly decent % got markmanship lvl 8 and plan to sort a low man faith

If you can reliably land Slug Shot in your R.ACC gear with a Coffeemaker, then you could safely replace some of that R.ACC gear with STR gear while using a Martial Gun and achieve the same accuracy with better damage.

I main-hand Joyeuse and off-hand... LEGION SCUTUM!
*ahem*
It looks cool, anyway my latest accomplishment : solo'ing Anantaboga T2 ZNM Cerb path =D
Took about 80 cards, I was most worried about his regen but it seems he can only stack 2 songs on himself so he often overrides Paeon for something like Minne rofl
Unfortunately, I can't get the hang of gear-swapping to stay running when QD solo'n, really sad I want to solo FOrtitude someday but looks pretty bleak since I JA stun myself about 80% of the time.

That's a tough one; you'll no doubt gain TP faster with Joy/Merc than Joy alone, though I'm not sure if you'll gain TP faster than single wielding the Merc. In any case, it's a combination that still isn't worth using - although I do use it to screw around in parties with friends from time to time.

No way!
Only done a few Beseiges on COR, but I always just do..
QD x2 > RD > QD x2 > WC > QD x2 > RD > QD x2 > Revit > QD x2 > RD > QD x2 > WC > QD x2 > RD > QD x2
Takes about 1min to finish the whole thing on a mob, get max points since QD doesn't seem to be nerfed like everything else in 'seige; get hate, die, rr and afk in a corner = win!

I think it's more of a question about if you can afford to give the mob TP. For birds I don't think it'll be too bad... however on Mamools you could get a party member killed fast from Firespit spam.

You'd have a hard time getting a Merc to consistantly hit harder than 0 on Mamools & Trolls anyway, so it's definately not worth it just for that reason. Hell, even if only 1/10 hits land for 0 it's not worth it, it's basically 1/10 less hits.
