lvl 74 RNG with axes kills 75 DRK

I was fighting @ Diorama with a few ppl I knew and some I never met, I was bored from lfg for about 3 hours so I came as my 74 RNG with Kriegsb and Francis, I must say I was impressed I was able to beat two different DRK/SAM lvl 75 players, one who I know plays ballista regularly and the other I never met, so it got me thinking, since I was kind of getting used to being the main target in lvl 60 caps and it was hard to defend oneself with a staff....that, in 1 vs 1s who usually has the upper hand?

I mean how many RNGs that play ballista use staves over daggers these days? This fad started a while after I played ballista, and I always told myself I was not gonna use staff if I ever leveled RNG because I felt defenseless (using offense as a defense), and I was damn right about it. I love usng Firestaff with ranged attack food in 60 caps though, I dish out 875 Sidewinders on average against non enhancing magic jobs, that was enough to get me addicted to using Fire Staff and attack food, but it pisses me off when I have a NIN or BST taru chasing me back and forth with his Tiger, utsusemi doesnt come off with arrows before my HP is down to 50%.

I know if u sub sam u get seigan and third eye, but in most cases I truly think using a staff is a discomfort for RNG, OK so earth staff grants -20% physical dmg reduction, so what, youre still a TP whore to the opposite team >_< right? And youre open to enfeebling magic, in small ballista matches where u dont have a full team to hide behind, staff is a mistake no matter what. I even have Mercurial Kris, that same Taru bst came after me in Jugner forest, except this time I had daggers, he went down in 5 seconds, Barrage ===> he starts sprinting in fear ====> Shadowbind ===> he starts using catho ===> Sidewinder ====> he is now eating dirt.

The DRKs that fought me attempted to Third Eye my barrage, casted poisonga and stun etc, the usual, and one of them when they saw it coming, he would sprint to get away until Third eye recast would come back, needless to say, sooner or later I got Sidewinder off and its all it took, 800+ Sidewinders. If I had a stupid staff it wouldve been impossible. What other job does RNG have the upper hand against? and I wonder if Corsair is any good? Anyone have any experiences?

edit: Oh I do have a diorama 5 vs 5 match video of the same people that same day, but I didnt start recording wthout their permission, while I played RNG >.> Im going to try to take one tonight, or at least an offical 60 cap. Im 20k tnl, lvl 75 (/--)/

I never use staff in Ballista either, I usually go for Tungi/Hawker's Knife (axe main because I have capped axe merits from BST) or 2x Hawker's, not really because I don't believe in the staff's benefits, but simply because I need a way to take down other people's Seigans or Utsusemis, which would be kinda impossible with the bow alone (or better, it is possible but you die at least 3 times in the process).
I wish I had a merc.kris to pwn those asses even more =

GJ man and keep on rocking.

Rng is a tough job for drks to fight because if you mess up you will most likely die, its kind of rare to find drks that can handle rngs solo. Good job, get some fraps going, its rare to see rng fraps.

To be honest it had little to do with your axes. you used sprinters boots to repeatedly cast ichi.... requiring multiple poisongas. both drks where elvaan and you did this till they ran out of mp. any job that is /nin can kill a mpless drk.

How much MP do lvl 75 elvaans have on average? like 240ish Mp? So it did took a few Poisongas, but it was mostly their fault, it had nothing to with my strider boots since I wasnt the one running away, they didnt time poisonga well with their meleeing and they backed away to stall for Third Eye recast when they saw Barrage, when they ran away from range to avoid my attacks, I re-casted utsusemi, which screwed up their rythm. However, none of this wouldve happened if I couldnt land Barrage or most of my ranged attacks, If I didnt have axes I wouldve never hit Barrage on target because I wouldnt be able to hit Third Eye + Seigan with a staff (I dont have it skilled up either), and Sidewinder would have had to wait until my E-bow took Third Eye away, which has similar delay to Scythe and thus putting me at a disadvantage. If the DRKs had axes and /nin instead of Scythe (the same concept as my RNG) than they would have needed less Poisongas and it wouldve been more interesting XD
