I'm 37 right now, but I just wanted to know what the best equipment at 40 for a pld would be? I ws thinking IM set or Royal Squire's? Not sure about the stats on them so any help would be appreciated.

i'd say a mixture of both, the level 40 IM pieces, + the squire pieces.

go for the three iron musketeer pieces, then breastplate seems to be the top choice for the body piece, and..ermm...i'm not a pld so i don't know bout the pants

Irn.Msk. Armet 20k
Breast plate 8k
Irn.Msk. Gauntlets 15k
Cuisses 4k
Irn.Msk. Boots 15k

You'll be set. Don't get the Ryl Sqr unless you just have money to spend, cause you'd be looking at spending another 24k for the body armor, unless you have CP to spend and are from San D'Oria. Stick with this combo until you get to lvl 45 and then get the Brigandine but keep everything else. At fifty you just need to get the body piece and the leg armor for the Irn. Msk. then you can look as cool as me.

You're lvl 37 and still no LS? Impressive...you should ask some of the people you party with.

It just depends really RS has + to stats but less defense and is on average about 15k more expensive then breastplate, which has more defense. Just depends, frankly I am willing to sacrafice 2 defense for a little + to stats lovin'. So I am at this point going with:
IM Armet
RS Chainmail
IM Gauntlets
RS Breeches
IM Sabatons
Then of course at 50 all IM. And don't forget to buy a heater and/or hard shield.

Matter of preference...me personally I liked the look of the breastplate, and I liked the price esepcially. It took me a lvl or two to actually acquire the Irn.Msk. Armor pieces. Defense was a big thing to me then too...until I realized the importance of VIT.

Thanks, I am from Sandoria so I think I might try for the RS armor. We'll see. I'm in an LS but it barely has anyone in it anymore, and even whne it did no one really played with each other, it was more of a chat room kinda deal where people just asked questions and stuff. Also there was one really high lvl jp player who started it but I don't see him on it very often. Either way I'd like to find a nice LS with active players.

Well this weekend i learned something valuable. I tried to get the coffer key from The Eldieme Necropolis and after alot of bitching, my party (poorly put together) all died and we got the key. Well...being that we all died I figured what the hell can I do now? So I spawned, well i foudn out that I could have still gotten it. Talk about depressing. Not a good weekend for this Pally.

IM - Head (+2 Vit)
RS - Body (+1 Dex)
IM - Hands (+5 Ranged)
RS - Legs (+1 Dex +1 Agi)
IM - Feet (+5 Ranged)
Earth Mantle - Back (Def 6 +1 Vit +4 earth +4something)
Holy Phial - Neck (Def 3 +9MP +3 Mnd)
Friars Rope - Waist (Def 2 +5MP +1 MND +2 Light +2 Dark)
2x Drone Earrings (+3 Agi each)
1x (or 2x) Verve Rings (+2 Vit each)

If you need MP get a Electrum Ring (-20HP +20MP)

At 42 You can get Earth Doublet (+4 Vit) and sacrifice 4 Def - OR -
you can wait until 45 and get Brigadine Armor (+10HP +2 Dex +2 Vit).

At 43 Get Heater Shield

At 50 Buy the rest of the IM armor

Ouch, such things aren't nice at all. I was in a 50-75pt that helped me and 2 friends get coffer keys. So now I'm raising whm to 25 fpr sneak/invis. Olny 5 levels to go on my whm.

The other thing I did had to do with the second limit quest. I needed to accomplish it and got in a KICK ass JP group. Well first i pissed them off by not having Vahzl crystal (Never been to xarcabard before that @_@) and then after we get there and kill the beast a few times I find out that i needed to talk to Maat first this time, unlike the first limit quest where you had to be 50 to even talk to him about getting limit removed. SO! They sent me back to Jueno and then one JP cussed me out for about 10 minutes saying that i was ill prepared... NOT ILLPREPARED...JUST DIDN'T KNOW. I should have checked with Maat...but heck since i got the crystal while we were there...we could have teleported back, but no i got kicked.
