Dancer G5 - First Look (With Pictures)

Since there is still no information about the new Dancer G5 I decided to try it on my own and see what I was up against.

Mobs that Drop the Testimony
Young Quadav in Grauberg [S]
Veteran Quadav in Grauberg [S]

I personally fought a Young Quadav and went 1/1 on it without any TH.

Afterwards I talked to Lalia and I got a cutscene with her telling me to bring a Dancer Testimony. I traded it and was warped to the Qu'Bia Arena.

Once the battle started I switched to all the evasion gear I had. Scorpion Harness, Optical Hat, AF Shoes, Evasion Torque, Ethereal Earring. Don't have a Boxer's Mantle yet. I figured I could evade the entire fight, but definitely not the case. Lalia is accurate and she will spam you with either the box or quickstep. However, you can erase these with Healing Waltz. She will typically use drain samba but I have seen her use Haste Samba.

She also cures herself very frequently, using just Curing Waltz 1. Many times we found ourselves curing at the same time. smile.gif

She will make use of Reverse Flourish AND Building Flourish, when you see this coming, you're about to get hit with a Dancing Edge. This caught me off guard with about a 540 Dancing Edge, which caused me to use Trance to stay alive. The battle then dragged on for a long time, both of us spamming steps on each other and healing. I did not use my Dancing Edge because this my first fight on this without any kind of guide, so I went into this blindly. I just stored as much TP as I could to I could stay alive.

At around 8 or 9 minutes or so, I only got her down to about 75% before she said that time was up and spammed me with Three Dancing Edges, the last two doing skillchains on me as well >_>.

I did this fight as 75 and it was very difficult, since DNC has low DoT and need TP to stay alive, it's a choice between using your WS and putting yourself at risk or focusing more on staying alive or running out of time.. I am considering using my Joyeuse for the next attempt so I can build more TP and try to focus a bit more on doing damage, but I wouldn't have my dagger WS so I am torn about my strategy. I have capped sword merits and a suppa so sword is a decent alternative in terms of accuracy.

I think DNC G5 may actually put RDM G5 to shame ohmy.gif I would like to think it's possible to do without using sleeping pots or other items to gain at advantage at the start. More updates to come soon~

Yeah I'm probably trying the next fight in most of my DD gear, and making some macroing in my AF body for the Waltz now. Just got second testimony...we shall see.

Lost again.. lol, got her down to 62% this time though. I had TERRIBLE luck and missed 3 Quicksteps in a row, and I missed even more steps later on. Dancing Edge definitely helps to bring her HP down but I still just can't find the TP to WS and heal myself. TP Wings and Sleeping Pots might be nessicary to win this. :/

Just tried this fight also, same story as above. At 75 I found her evasion to be kind of annoying so I ended up using Quickstep which helped a lot. In the end though it ground down into a stalemate, with both of us curing whatever damage we had done to each other. As time ran out she said 'Fuck it" and Dancing Edge'd three times in 5 seconds, which put a swift end to things. I'd got her down to about 75% by then. The main problem was doing enough damage to outdo her cures, if the fight was 30 minutes long then maybe you could straight up kill her, but at 10 minutes it's going to be pretty damn tough, especially with low damage daggers and saving TP for cures instead of Weapon Skills. I don't know, unless there's a trick to it like the Thf or Whm Maat fights, the only way I can see someone winning would be to spend a fortune on meds, and even then it's absolutely not certain.

aww, so DNC G5 isn't going to be similar to whm, just trying to stay alive for a certain amount of time lol, a curing battle might take a while...I hope SE changes that! On the bright side, wow, that is a nice screenshot of you syncing with Laila on cure waltz, very pretty! lol

Just noticed, how come you have 2 Samba icons on at the same time in one SS? :O_o

Yes she had Drain Samba active on me as well. I tried this again for the 4th time. Got her down to 30% this time around, I tried not to heal myself at all and just build TP. I used Trance to heal myself back up when I was at low hp instead of wasting my TP curing mid-fight, but after Trance wore off I still ran into some problems. Once I got 100 TP I did Wild Flourish + Dancing Edge, then using a wing and did a Dancing Edge again. I did not run out of time though, she actually killed me normally (I had no TP to cure myself and she just beat me down), if I got one more Dancing Edge off I think I could have had it :/.

I've went from 11,000 buffer last night to 4,000 buffer to now, but I don't wanna give up. Probably gonna give it my 5th shot sometime tonight. :X

Correct. One icon is the regular Samba you've used for 65 levels, the other is the Samba effect she puts on you from her melee attacks.

Hmm how about stacking up with healing pots and using all your tp for enfeebling and ws only.

I just tried doing that....had 7 Hi-Potions, a Vile Exlir and a TP wing.. 0/5!! I got her down to 33% but I just couldn't finish her off. My friend just went 1/1 on it using less meds than I did, and didn't need his 2hr ><. Ugh, very upset, I've lost 10k buffer since last night. :cry

I'd say Joyuese will help you to win. And changing-gears marco for depends on between damage dealer, some dnc afs, and etc. (And also, shield! I know those shields suck for dnc, but it will help lil bit IF you already maxed shield skills. Half-Dmg {Yes, please.} AND DON'T FORGET IT'S NOT ALLOWED TO SUB JOB IN G5 JUST IN CASE.)

P.S Amber/Young/Veteran Quadavs in N. Gustaberg [S] drops it also.

I'm gonna try this when I get my testimony.

Btw:

Don't bother with a lot of meds unless you're certain of your strategy.

Saving TP for Enfeebling and WS is good, but also bad.

Its hard to get out of range of her Dancing Edge (being that the arena is small.), since you have a very -small- grace period to move when she uses building flourish before she pops off DE.

Desperate Flourish rarely landed..sadly.

Oh..and yes you two -will- be doing things at the same time throughout the match lol biggrin.gif
