Hello everybody!! Ok so I havent played in a long time but yeah I do want to come back. Either to ffxi or maybe try wow I dont know but whatever Im getting off track. Dancer looks way fun and the dances seem super cool but I read anyone can do the dances now? Dancer has been out how long and they have kinda pretty much nerfed it when you think about it. What about the uniquness? Ok whatever with that said dancing should have been available right away like in wow were you have the Napleon Dynomite dance that is HILARIOUS.

So who has played dancer and how fun is it? Is it brd but with smooth moves? Brd was fun but yeah the songs or little diddies or whatever get stuck in your head and ANNOY the crap out of you. Um moral of the post: Dancer worth coming back for?

If that's the only thing you're interested in, it's not worth it.

Everyone can do the dance motions, not the actual beneficial dances themselves. People wanted an actual /dance emote back at the fanfest, requested it, and they made it so that everyone could use 'em. But there's no benefits from doing it as any other job, it's just for fun.

Sounded like he wanted an opinion to me, not just reading what ja's the job gets. <.< Sure you can base opinions off the info in the topics here, once you sift through the flames and retardedness. Or you can make a post that'll get your answers quick and eventually sink to the bottom of the page and never to be seen again and avoid all that.



Personally, I find the job is fun and unique. But, as posted above, not worth coming back for alone. Maybe for some of the other stuff WotG introduced like campaigns, the few decent quests and gear they tossed out for other jobs you might've liked while you played. The overall experience of the game has improved since the last few patches. All I could say is try it out and see if it's what you like. But again, Dancer alone is not worth coming back for unless you really like dancing for 75 levels of exp.

All I ever do is exp or whatever so its kinda like what job is going to gratify my experiencely? Do dancers get invites? I want to exp super fast. Maybe I should play wow? Is exping funner than it was and did they fix alot of the broken stuff or whatever? I played brd for a while but it was somewhat broken and seriously not as good as having a whm or whatever. I just thought it had good potencial. Im thinking hey maybe dancer will be like brd but less broken or whatever. But then again they kinda broke it by sharing dances. I dont know but its like maybe I should try it.

Dancer is fun, try it =] It's quite a bit different from bard as you get to melee. Come back to the game just to try campaign and the new areas anyway. I myself will be returning to the game on my Tarutaru this afternoon.. and yeh a lot of jobs have had new things to try and balance them out.. there'll be a lot of new things coming too so the best time to return would be now while the expansion is still fresh.

Balancing? Does that means that a bunch of jobs got nerfed?

For the most part the balancing was done by boosting weak jobs, less by nerfing strong ones, and most of those instances were where they cut back a previous boost they had overdone.
Most of the actualy nerfs apply only when you use a job as a subjob, like when you use Trick Attack with thief sub it is a lot harder to actually transfer the hate to the tank ahead of you than if a main thf used it.
Mostly done so people would not pick a thf sub over a main thf (random example)
So, all you were able to do before you still can, odds are you have even more toys to play with now.

For dancer it.. isn't really like a bard. You also have debuffs but a LOT less than a bard would. It's mainly a frontline healer with a near limitless capacity of healing, adding useful debuffs as well.
One thing it is simply AWESOME for is when used as a melee sub. In a lot of instances it replaced /nin for soloing things. Its also quite strong solo, so if you are scared to go to the dunes again no worries, you can easily solo 1-75 against DC-T mobs. It isn't insanely fast but it *is insanely durable.
So, yeah, give it a spin i'd say, i had fun with it.

For the /dance emotions.. Yeah, people asked for it at the fanfest but seriously, they are overdoing it currently. Last party i had a ninja who added a dance + the full emote description to every single ninjutsu he cast. Don't get me wrong, he did his job fine, was a better ninja than a lot i saw, but it was seriously annoying X.x

For Trendy.Ideology, simply ignore him, he isn't even very creative in his trolling. It seems like basic hating is a trendy ideology on the intarwebs. so yeah, just another /btard.

Bard is the class that's broken... as in it gets invites like 6x faster than the next closest job (cept maybe a tank...). WHM isn't anywhere near as good as a brd for leveling, lol.

Bard is an amazingly wanted job all the way until 75, and then still from 75+ (meriting... to pull).

Dancer... well, you'll dance and then level another job <3

Sounds to me like he's asking for peoples opinion and personal experience with the job. Nowhere does he ask "How do I play this Job".

And from the sounds of his posts/responses a little light reading would do him some good.

Fun is relative. Some people love ___(guess what you can put anything here)____ some hate it.
So fun is moot and a dumb question, it's entirely subjective to the style of play he's interested in.
Is it bard with "Smooth moves?"? I'd say that's fairly fucking obvious.
Lets look at it logically.

The job dances.
The job buffs the party, and debuffs the mob, for very similar end results as bard buffs.
The job has new and unique job abilities.

I'd say that qualifies as smooth moves, and it's all information that's available in like 50 other posts, and Wiki.

Dancer worth coming back for? People have quit over linkshells, drama, voiceboxes, items, real life, or just come back just to hang out with friends, taken breaks for countless reasons, and returned from retirement for no apparent reason other than missing the game. Yet another entirely objective question with no real answer. You'd have to intimately know the OP to intelligently answer that question, otherwise you're just giving your personal opinion, which does him no good unless he intimately knows you, so that he can gauge if you relate well enough to him, his ideals, perceptions, and feelings, enough for him to feel secure that his eventual evaluation of the job will be similar to the opinion you provided, because if you're dissimilar people, odds are things you may like and enjoy, he may not like or enjoy, and the other way around.


Fail and Aids? Hardly. I just don't fucking care enough to respond to the typical drivel visited upon these boards lately.

I've seen WoWfags post more compelling arguments than what I see here on a day to day basis.

Bard is not at all "Broken"..its not supposed to be like whm at all! it gives the party attack+, defense+ eva+ haste+..maybe i'm missing where Bard comes in as WHM? Anyways..I love Dancer, It is currently 55 and the job is just awesome to me, I love knowing i can go out and solo shit because i can even if i dont get parties, Mind you the party invites arent always so "Fast" (People don't know the stuff Dancer can do, its [Impossible to Gauge] Job) so i take what i can get. I have enjoyed getting all my AF, and just leveling the job..Is dancer worth coming back for? No..If i quit and wanted to come back i'd come back for SAM's sekkanoki! That Ability is AWESOME
