you use flash as you use third eye... you dont' spam it... you do it when they are about to WS.... How do you know when they about to WS? When you fight enough you know... it's never 100%... but it's safe... who WS when you put cocoon on anyways? try to see a MNK/PLD flash a DRG/SAM he'll miss his penta thrust.

you should already have cocoon up before heading to battle anyway, just like how you're supposed to assumo a mage has stoneskin up, you should always assume the enemy is chasing u for a reason, especially if they are /sam assuming they have TP is a step ahead, now on the other end of the table, you should assume youre going to get flashed or the enemy is going to put third eye up. Especially when the coward is attempting to run away. My question is, who WS when you get flashed anyways? Probably the kind of people who rush and arent very experienced at fighting in regular matches, or maybe the ones who dont learn their lesson >.> Cause flashing a WS is supposed to be a lucky move, however you'd be surprised how often it happens, even with third eye.

I prefer /blu in smaller matches. /pld can help alot more when you are really seeking the GB, and chasing people maybe a bit too long. that sentinal can often buy you the time to get back to your team. they are both good subs, but in big matches I prefer /nin.
I used to /blu to all my uncaps on mnk, but after getting hit with gravity, and bind, and sleep, and elegy soooo many times, I decided I wanted shadows. Ill admit, you're nowhere near as good in 1v1s, but avoiding that gravity that gets thrown your way from the rdm on the edge of their team as rooks move, and avoiding a carnage elegy or dispel makes it priceless for that.
not to mention; invis + asuran = GB nearly every time

/nin is more of a team reliant SJ, so it has it's time and it's place.
I only started subbing it because a JP brd on caitsith is painfully good with elegy and lullaby, and I was elegy nearly all the time as /blu. and from there, I discovered the benefit in it.

oh, and @OP: cor/blu rookguard is epic in 60s, and pretty good in uncaps too

konda is right, there is no real best SJ for ballista. its all situational, depending on what strategy u like to use, what kind of skills you have, what kind of ppl u r fighting, how skilled r ur opponents. there will never be 1 only good sj for ballista, theres alot. and no matter how much u say 1 sj is good, another is gonna be better at something else.

I actually forgot Wind Card for the first of the 3 match at Meriphtaud lol... I had Wind Staff and Earth Staff... and Ice and Thunder card lol... so Couldn't get Staff bonus XD
