Does it need to be on full-time to increase Samba duration or can you just macro it in for the dance?

I know like with a Bard song, you can cast with a +2 instrument & then change instruments. (Duh)
I also know for an item like Warrior's Calligae you need to keep them on full-time for the Berserk effect.

That's why I'm confused. I've just been wearing tiara full-time.

All of the DNC AFs are macro capable.
