Well, it's either necro or make a new post and get ppl whining about not useing the search or scrolling down the front page.

Anyhow, it's a nationality-based sport. I'm just saying a little support from the nation wouldn't be too far fetched. 10 minutes before cancellation, a vote will be given to permit the use of national support and the sides will be filled to meet minimum requirements, or whatever.

When it first came out, I was a Brd so there wasn't much PvP other than following allies around and sleeping anyone that targetted me. Then sleep was nerfed and poison pots became a temp item... so I went back to xp and craft/farm/hobby and haven't been back since.

From that perspective, I'm pulling out proposals that would make me want to do Ballista w/out leveling Blu, throwing money away with rng or bst, or being ignored on pld (according to the consensus on the forums). Npc is a general cure-all, basically.

bst....lol most bst are dumbed down war, and on that note! a good brd is amazing in ballista, especially with 1 rook, we got slaughtered bad last night on siren because of it :dontgetit I think the first thing you should ask yourself is if ballista even takes place on your server, you have become 'interested' in something that is already dead on more then half the servers, and honestly most likely is giong to get 0 help on reviving from SE. The things we've all said through this are just things we hope for, but really none are going to happen, I mean, they made a god dam cheese sandwich in the game cause someone said it at fanfaire.....They gave us brenner, which was ok just not what we were hoping for in terms of keeping it alive. And then they were funny and brought out pankration. All the people who wasted so much time with that crap, then SE invested more time in choco racing....lmao know anyone who actually does it? Chances are ballista is dead on your server, just hold diorama with your ls and be happy with whatever you can muster up

Honestly, SE needs to scrap both Ballista and Brenner, and come up with a totally new form of PvP. It's getting to the point where I don't even care and am just waiting for a real PvP/RvR game such as WAR (Warhammer Age of Reckoning) or even Aion, Korea's answer to what looks like FFXI + WoW = a new and exciting game that has both elements of pvp and pve. ~both coming out late 2008/or early 2009.

Since this game is primarily PVE , and nobody really cares about competetive PvP, they mostly care about who has the better looking gear so they can stand around the Auciton House all day looking pretty. I'm sure if SE added crazy ballista gear that people could use anywhere, like broken shit that blows everything out of the water, earned through PvP victory, kill points...whatever etc... Ballista would probably be packed with 36 vs 36 matches where ppl show up early to ensure a spot in the fight.

Too many crybabies play this game, and I'm really sick of it. I've been on 3 servers in search of good PvP, and it just doesn't exist because it wasn't what the game was designed for in the first place. They don't even give us new zones to fight in since its conception as well... its old and stale.

I hope SE's new MMO that they are working on has innovative, fun, and balanced PvP, maybe some RvR? as well as the renowned PvE content we all have grown to love over the Final Fantasies Series. If they did this, I would subscribe and and continue to be a loyal customer, and dedicated "hardcore" player.

WAR was supposed to be out already, but I hear its horrible, and mix reviews about AoC. Heard about Aion a while ago but ehhh about that for a while. Its a shame there really hasnt been anything to compete with the few mmorpgs that make it. After EQ and WoW, you barely have ff11, almost cant even put ff11 in the same standing as those 2 games, considering how small of a community it has, even at its peak. I would guess EQ,10 years after its been out and has been dying after year 6, still has more players then ff11.

Its a shame that few games have actual decent pvp, all pvp is flawed and has the OP jobs, like blu(/coughlets get this thread back on track!) The only reason Im even on ff11 was for ballista, I saw my brother doing it and after I left EQ came here, because I didnt want to play WoW. Now Wow has a far more better pvp environment, because the game had a huge basis on PvP.

God said it so many times, pvp here is an after thought, thats why it has so little attention, with no incentive to play it, nobody does unless friends drag them in. And what happens the majority of the time is, they die too much during 1 match, they never come back. Those that do, are the ones that love it, but theres too few of us really. I started making my balilsta videos because the guy from hades, who basically represented us, only did 1vs1 diorama with all timers up etc, which really proves nothing IMO. PvP isnt about duels....which a lot of people dont understand, because they have never been in a real pvp game, where pvp is on all the time, not just for 1hour at a time in 1 zone.....People here have no concept of arenas and what not, which are god dam fun. I will admit that the WAR videos looked pretty shitty, and the sounds , sounded like you were in an old persons home that got turned into a Haloween haunted house, was like wtf...? But I am not going to judge it completely on a BETA version run, re-aired on an internet video. People were like, "It does not do the game justice" which I can agree. What I am happy and excited about however, was the fact that the whole game is based upon RvR, and they don't want it to be a time sink gringing type game, but rather get you into the action fast. I know a few ppl that played ballista regularly with me who quit, and I did not hear from until recently on other forums that they are eager and waiting for this games release. I think its cool that the ffxi community is so tight, that even after this game hits the bucket, that the people you made friends with and everlasting realtionships can be carried into new games!

I also like the idea of the banner AOE effects, and banner holders, and how you can bring them into battle, and have to fight to guard them, and that they can be stolen by the enemy and taken back to there bases. LOL that sounds like a lot of fun. And, also everyone in that realm will share the bonuses that your custom banner you made will recieve if you are on the same alliance.

Aion's graphics make me drool, and they have a pretty good idea too about that Abyss type warp mechanism that brings you to the PvP battlefield. The fact that you can pop your wings out and fly around intrugues me as well, sorta like a built in flying mount type that WoW has. They say that this game won't be affected by online gold sellers, but I'm skeptical since ffxi got dicked over really hard by this. Aion also had the idea to make really good gear only obtainable through PvP progress, which awards the players that do well a chance to get superior armor via player battlefields. This is a great idea, because it gives a reason and reward system to Pvp, which can also lure mostly PvE players into this realm.

Blu is not overpowered lol, if you don' think so I was in a match where it turned into kinda like a theme match where it evovled into one team having a shitload of MNKS, and the other team had a shitload of BLU's, and each team had a few mages. This happened after ppl warped back to the mog house and swithced jobs. It was uncapped match on Siren a few weeks ago, which mostly LS' mates and other die hard ballista folks took place in 8vs8 if I could remember correctly. Short story short, the Mnks had the upper hand on the Blu's throughout the match. So Yes, I think that blus are not overpowered at all in a real OM match. Not just in a dual where both ppl start with all timers reset and start with FULL MP. That is a false example of what really happens in OM"s

WoW's answer to gold selling IMO is the best....made gold easy to obtain through daily quests and that fact that you can farm the hell out of certain gathering trade skills to earn money easy that buying gold was just really a waste of money. Unlike in ff11 where people feel its a BIG time saver considering how much more of a pain in the butt it is to farm.

WoW also has the arena gear going for pvp rewards, which in most cases...most because for prot pld that stuff is crap :love its good gear to pvp in, now Im not saying it blows pve gear out of the water, just that its a nice thing for people who dont have the time to raid. More about wow and the whole, playing to the casual player opposed to the hard core raiders...because once youve done it in one game, its not worth it really in another IMO
