Recently hit DNC60 and I felt it was time to upgrade from Bone Knife+1. I picked up two of the Darksteel Jambiya mostly because I love the look of them, and cause I got them about 5k less then current price. I know I shouldnt be concerned with looks, I should be concerned with stats, so here's the stats.

Bone Knife+1, Dmg:18 Delay:190, Acc+5 Attk+5
Darksteel Jambiya Dmg:20 Delay:201, Acc+1

Now common sense tells me, I'm a dnc, my main focus should be TP accumulaton, and therfor I should keep the Bone Knife+1 for the added 10 acc. I believe in most cases, this would be a no brainer. However, since I have accuracy bonus II trait, as well as 8 dagger merits from THF, and Bream Sushi for that more much acc, I find the Jambiya to be a decent alternative. Tried them out last night in duo with my Nin friend, on T and VT colibri with no sushi, was using Meat actually for e-peen numbers on Dancing Edge. Had no Acc issues at all, and that's wearing my Haste Build (Harness and Swiftbelt) instead of Acc (SH and Potent). So I think against low IT mobs, I should have no problem at all, especially with Sushi.

Wanted to get a general opinion though from other dancers in my situation. I know my goal as DNC is to gain TP, Debuff, Heal, and DD last, but if I can maintain the first 3 while doing a bit more DD, wouldn't that ultimately be my best option? Plus I pulled off an 892 Dancing Edge on VT in the Duo, so I'm really leaning towards these Darksteel Jambiyas.

best way to find out if the d. jambiya is working for you, is to parse yourself in a EXP PT or 2. Compare your acc w/ the bone knives to that with the jambiyas. I doubt you'll see any problems though if you're eating sushi. I don't even have an acc build for mine, and I don't see any acc problems while eating sis kebabi *only +5acc from food* but I use bone knives +1.

If you have an acc build of @ least 10 acc *and you said you have SH* then you won't see any problems, even eating meat *methinks*.

But like I said, parse yourself, and go with what you feel most comfortable with.

I would just stick with 2 Bone Knives +1. DJ may have two more base damage, but you are also losing +10 attack & +8 accuracy. The DPS on Bone Knife +1 is 5.68, while the Darksteel Jambiya is 5.97. Not a lot of difference. If anything you could main hand DJ and sub BK+1 to have both worlds. Personally, I used 2x BK+1 until Lv59. I upgraded to 2x Darksteel Kukri +1 [Lv.59 Dmg:23 Delay:194] which has a DPS of 7.04. The difference in base damage really showed on Dancing Edge (1100+ was easy on birds).

I would also suggest trying main Darksteel Jambiya and sub Bone Knife+1, see how they work out for you.

Currently my DNC is level 71 and I've been trying to figure out what would be a better option for a decent dagger set-up. I'm currently using BH+1 X2 and have been considering offhanding a Cobra Unit Dagger for my Haste build. Common sense tells me that the DMG and +10Attack from BH+1 is the better choice but like Ganj stated isn't the sole purpose of DNC to build TP? Because the Cobra Unit dagger does have a significant decrease in delay it seems with the right ammount of haste as a better option but at a significant loss of DMG. Has anyone tried BH+1 and Cobra and parsed it. I have the same delema. I'm currently on my XBOX since my PC died on me and so I can't test it for myself. That and I'm not fond of the idea of saving up notes to waste on the dagger when they could be used for something else. Another question is what dagger combos do you find work the best?
