My chocobo is now 38 days old. I've been taking him for medium and long walks every day. Durring each walk I find nothing when i look for the chocobos item when i'm told the bird is completly abdorbed in it's current activity. I was told that my bird should only get absored in an activity on 1 walk. Is this true. Because i'm getting for both long and medium. I've went to sandy a few times just to make sure i didn't somehow have the item. but, no luck so far. can someone PLEASE help me out here and let me know if i'm doing something wrong? at this rate my bird is gonna retire before i can ride it ><

You can find the item on any of the three walk types, try a short walk and see if you find it there. It can get absored in an activity on all three but only 1 will you find the item. Hope that helps.

PS if you have the wistle from another bird you don't need to find a new one (as long as you still have it) but i am guessing you don't already.

I've tried all 3 walk and get the following responses...

Short > choccobo seems happy
medium > chocobo completly absorbed > look for item (find nothing of interest)
long > chocobo completly absorbed > look for item (find nothing of interest)

bird ahs max affection and above average strength and endurance. I've been looking for item for the last 9 days now and cant find anything. am i just unlucky or is there a problem?

Did you do the mini-quest in which you carry around a handkerchief for a while? When my sister was raising her bird, she missed this quest, and so was never able to find the item. (The item you find is the handkerchief.)

If you cared for your Chocobo regularly while it was a chick, you should have gotten this quest taken care of automatically.

I had the same problem on THREE characters and I finally said forget it. On my Galka I just completely missed an item cause it was my first try and I didn't fully understand. Once it retired and I realized i couldn't ride him I did some research and was going to make a 2nd attempt on my 3 char i play. Well I have a hume, taru and galka and I NEVER got an item for ANY of them. I finally got disgusted and quit trying to have one. I'd search and never turn up anything, and I too went to sandy to see if somehow I had a key item, nothing. Then once I found a pebble in my tarus chocos stable so i tried to turn that in and no luck either. In total i've raised 5 chocos on 3 chars and don't have a single whistle to show for it.

If you figure out any strategy, by all means please share, I might try again lol

day 41 and still no hanky! i'm really starting to get upset.

i did the quest where you find the hanky and you do something to leave your scent on it to comfort the bird.

did a medium and a long walk last night and now its telling me the bird is very happy, not absorbed in his activity. something is screwed up!

That's actually part of the quest. Sometimes it will be absorbed, sometimes it will not.

Seeing as the hanky wasn't at the long or medium walks, it means that it's in the short walk.

So keep doing the short walk until it's absorbed in the surroundings, then you'll find the hanky, I promise.

Your chocobo will bury it in one of the three locations only, and it doesn't change.
