parties can be faster. if you make them yourself it's okay, but if you hate dealing with people just plop your ass in a zone where campaigns happen often. (i.e. this week windy only owns west saru, so i wait there). i work on my computer and check campaign status about every 5 mins or wait for the music.
if you can't or don't want to wait jump from zone to zone. i do it in clumps of 10k if possible. it gets easier as you get higher levels. would not recommend it under 60.
like others said only downside is you'll have to live somewhere skilling for about a week if you do this.
like me. DRK 75 with 203 scythe skill. wanted to kill myself. (GS was at 256 for campaign from war)

i did campaign for pld 71-75 when it first started with a few pt's in between for skill-ups (i don't have problems getting pt invites as a pld...but i play fairly casually now and can't commit the time to a pt usually). i do it now for most of my merits...i just find it easier than ending up with a surprise lvl synch 50 pt. ugh.

Once you know how campaign xp works, its pretty easy to optimize your exp per battle. Knowing that 10% of your dmg dealt, dmg taken, and hp cured go toward xp along with little things like raising grants 60xp toward the hp cured cap, etc. XP caps per battle raise when you rank up.

Anyhow... I've leveled PUP, BST, WAR, and MNK pre75 in campaign, usually starting around lv65 (that seems to be when acc/atk of melee for me seems to catch up to campaign mobs, and I assume similarly of mage casting). If you don't like FoV, which can be a pain in the ass sometimes, certainly campaign while LFP.

I started doing some FoV stuff on PLD, and got to the upper 50's ok but around 58 or so I started having problems finding a good FoV spot. I was doing a page out of the book by the telepoint in Yhoator Jungle and that was working ok until the Young Opo-opo's started going too weak and became a pain to find an EP one. I tried a few other zones and just wasn't able to find another good one, I just wasn't able to find a decent camp in Altepa where I could find a good concentration of the mobs I needed and it involved a lot of walking around.

I struggled to get to 60, and when I did I gave Campaign a try. It was very slow going, I couldn't hit worth a damn with sword, and could barely do anything with great sword. I think I got more points from taking AoE damage and curing myself/others than from fighting. The xp wasn't very good, I think the only reason I kept at it was because I was making money from the union coffers. That money dried up pretty fast, prices plummeted for a number of items. It even got to the point where I started buying certain items from the AH and NPCing them and making a profit.

Now I've finally hit 63 and doing quite a bit better with doing damage, but it's still slow. It'll definitely be better in a few levels. It's a shame that offensive battles were nerfed so bad, as I can fight imps without any problem. It's just a matter of there actually being any mobs to fight.

Page 5 in Eastern Altep Desert. Just go batshit on goblins. That's what I did for DRK.

I'll keep that in mind for next time. I was doing page 4 of Yhoat, which caps out only 1 level below page 5 of Eastern Altep but got really annoying trying to find a non-TW opo at the end. It was easy to find mobs around the telepoint and I could watch a movie while doing it. lol

I hit 64 PLD the other day, Campaign still kinda sucks at that level. Mainly doing it for the items to sell.

Yeah, I don't understand these people who are somehow getting more than 2k XP from Campaign. If I'm lucky, I can pull down around 1300, but it's usually more like 700 XP because either the zone is swamped, so mobs die incredibly fast (except the inevitable two or three antisocial fuckers that pull a mob to the opposite end of the continent and spend 40 minutes trying to kill it), or the zone is completely empty and I get owned by 20 angry Fomors and their Black Mage leader. -.-

Still, doing Campaign with your party flag up and a comment along the lines of "HP: Whitegate Instant Warp: O" is a good idea.

depends where and how you do it, once i got 5170 as sch and 3800 as bst, me duel boxing this made a t shell drop ( the 2 of me where the only 2 in union)

I think i was the only 2 in the campin as well, its rather hard fi they only last 10 mins though lol

I took PUP from 64-75 in about a month doing nothing but campaign in eldieme necropolis, but that was back before the nerf of exp from fortifications. I got about 1/2 a level per day, however there was 1 week where Sandy had taken over eldieme so I couldn't campaign. Although, my skills in H2H, automaton melee/magic/ranged attack suffered greatly.

Now with the aspect of Unions, you have somewhat of a hard choice to make:

Do you want the chance at some items?
-or-
Do you want to make as much exp as possible?

Every time you renew your tags after you make the cap, as I understand it, your work with whatever Union you joined is erased and you will need to restart it. Since there isn't a set time limit on campaign battles...if say the campaign battle ends just as you renew your tags and your trying for both Union spoils, and as much exp as you can make...well, you just lost all your work for Union spoils.

The wheels fell off of the allied wagon this week on Carbuncle, the beastmen took over a lot of territory over the weekend. Trying to find a decent fight has been a total pain in the ass. It's a real shame, because I can get a lot of points on an offensive battle *IF* the damned beastmen bother defending their zones. But now with even more zones to cover, both the allied and beastmen forces seem spread too thin to have consistent action and it seems like neither side care to defend their zones. The surge of interest in the union coffers has died down a lot, participation has dropped off sharply. Probably because much of the union items are now going for below NPC cost on the AH.

It seems I spent half my time roaming from zone to zone only to find out the battle already ended, or was so overwhelmingly one-sided that it didn't last long. A campaign battle shouldn't last for 7 minutes, that's just retarded. But that's what I'm seeing when 4 squads of beastmen blitz an undefended zone. Get killed and spend more than half the battle waiting for weakness to wear.
