I used the search function but didn't find any useful info on a duo partner for dnc so if I missed a thread, I apologize in advance.

My girlfriend wants to level dnc and I'd like to duo a job with her, I just wasnt sure if there is a specific combo that works out well. I was considering the following: cor (mostly for invites for us), blu, drg or rng. If there are any other jobs which would work better as a duo partner for dnc please let me know.

A dnc is a nice duo partner with the job, you can help each other with samba and healing.

I'd say a DD that can hold their own would be a good partner. A DRG is always a good to duo with. Though I don't know the capabilities of a PUP it seems it would be good as you can customise the puppets abilities to suite the mobs you would be fighting.

I say Damage dealer because Dancer can't really use weapon skills without risks, thought hey can solo a lot of things the battles last for ages, the faster you kill mobs the better for your xp.

I was also on Sam around lvl 45 duoing with my friend who was a DNC and that worked very well too, my sub was /war but /Dnc would also be a good option so you could heal yourself if you got into a fix, I also solo'd some T mobs like this too. And later on when the Dancer gets wild flourish you can skill chain together quite a lot!

Another alternative could be COR for the xp bonus and for some steady Damage dealing!

I was in a party yesterday with a ranger and we got from 15-20 in two hours off of worms in korroloka. He voked it, ran off, I meled and healed him when the worms casted spells. Later on, though, I could see blu or drg in particular being a great duo partner with dancer.

Any DDer who can hold their own basically. Find someone who can do decent damage and go kill pets using the blm solo guide on ffxicyclopedia. I actually did some dnc/bst at some times. Mainly in gustav against leeches in the mid 50s. My advice is to level a decent DD job that doesn't often get party invites.

My husband and I duo with Blm & Dnc. It's been a really good duo team so far. We're currently both level 27.

I've done Paladin and Dancer duo periodically between lv20 and 40 fighting tough mobs and it's been pretty good xp, perfect for when we want to level a bit but don't fancy/have time for a full party.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. It helped me to narrow down my choices to monk or blue mage. I'd gladly take paladin or nin but they are 65 and 75 respectively so I can't do that . Any additional input on monk or blu for a partner is always welcome

Personally I think pretty much any job can find an easy way to duo with Dancer, since a Dancer can gear accordingly to match his partner. Blue Mage might not be a very good choice depending on how far you plan on going. If you duo with Blue Mage you will be restricted to a pretty narrow range of enemies or you'll end up having some downtime for the BLU to heal MP. If you go up against Colibri, Crabs, and the like you can Aspir Samba them. However, Blue Mage is a lot safer than Monk because of its flexibility.

If you go with Monk it'll probably be faster kills as you go up. Just make sure you choose targets that don't hit too hard so DNC doesn't run out of TP or cooldown times get in the way.
