By my calculations this will give you 85.1% Damage Reduction on blocks. Wow, really not that bad.
For comparison sake, Koenig Shield is 61% Damage Reduction. Combined with the new spell and merits, you should be able to block a fairly decent amount even without gear.

If the 71DEF is in addition to the 21DEF then you're looking at 96% Damage Reduction.

Guess you guys best start tossing those Mbodys.. oh wait.

its not in addition to. there are items that do that, and they have defense + instead of defense:

Maybe this shield has something to do with the addition of Reprisal. So maybe reprisal's reflect effect can depend a bit on the defense of a shield. On skoffin, a mob that hits for ~200 unblocked and 50 damage on a block with aegis, i was reflecting anywhere around 45-64 damage. On fafnir i've reflected single digits and up to 68 damage. So still not exactly sure what determines reflect potency but maybe this Riot Shield would be good with it. Only thing that would throw it off is the fact that DRK can use it for some reason.

If you are naked and wearing this shield and a sword, does the Campaign Yagudo have a higher chance of knocking off your weapons?

If you don't have any armor, can the ability land on those empty slots?

Also, has anyone tested that 96% damage reduction on block?

Ture) I was thinking, it'd sure save me 5 inventory spaces at being a mediocre pld with no high end gear and 5 other lvl 75 jobs. That and maybe serve as a back-up peice if I accidentally delevel and need something to campaign in until I re-level.
