for some reason when i cast flash the counter will go down to 0 and t tells me that i cant cast again.... it says "Unable to cast spell at this time"
the recast time seems to be 50-60 seconds and the timer is only set at 40 sec. if this happens to anyone else let me know or is it something that i dont know about that doesnt let me cast it at the right time.

i get that too...can't figure out exactly why though. it happened a lot less when i stopped using as many macros and started using alt m, alt j, etc. it also seems to stop [let me cast flash] after my next provoke

hrm... it would be nice to get to the bottom of why this happens. it always seems to work fine when im trying to get the agro back if i lose it, the only time it seems to not work is when i am trying to stack hate.

Maybe that's it.... Maybe SE fixed it so that you can't stack too much hate?

It might just be a bug in the game. Has anyone mentioned anything about this to a GM or to SE itself. It's not a big problem for me (not being a paladin and all). But one of you guys might wanna do that.

Gah, I also hate this. I usually do pretty well holding hate even when this happens, its just really freaken annoying when you macro it for a quick recover and it does not work so im fumbling for an unneeded cure or bash. I will constantly get a BLM who like to test me by draining 400mp into every mob with no reguards for their own safety.. Wouldnt bother me if they fixed this obvious glitch. If their reason was to lower the amount of hate then they should have made it generate less hate rather than glitch and screw up what could be a critical timing issue. IMO, very poor and needs to be fixed. I have not noticed this before, just lately when I started playing my PLD again and added flash as a macro instead.

Well, it is an obvious problem that should be addressed. I believe it the fact that it is such a fast cast. There have been times where the counter goes to zero and I can use it and times where I cannot use it when it hits zero...who knows. I just usually try not to use all my hate tactics all at once so I don't run out of too much hate. A simple Provoke every 30 sec works better for me than using flash every time. I use flash when my PROV isn't done charging.

I actually know the answer to this.... it was brought up on a different website.
Slow effect increases recast time... but doesn't update the timer... this is the usual culprit.
Also High lag conditions can make it just a slight bit off also... but the discrepency isn't as big as having the slow effect on you.

i think that it is slow becuase slow/haste does infact speed up cast times and recast times but the timer is not modified......
it seems to only happen when im fighting crawlers that cast slow. i really didnt think of this, thx for the input.... im going to try to talk to a GM when i get home from work and ask if this could be a reason why this phenomenon

i talked to a GM and he said that the only thing that he could think of would be lag. i mentioned the thing about slow or haste and he said that that shouldnt do anything

I talked to [GM]Kwayzar(?) I think that was his name.. Anyway he was really friendly and said he would look into it.. When I then told him that we were discussing this problem on paladins ifrits forums he responded with an even better answer. He told me he would send a report to the development team right away.. Hopefully the issue resolves itself. Whether it be modification of the timer or repair of the glitch. I love the CS in this game.. Very tight..
