I think the problem with Derf is that he thinks of himself as the Andy Kaufman of the KI forums. By acting retarded and goading people into making a comment on his behaviour, he thinks he's actually being funny, entertaining and original much like Any Kaufman was during his stint as a professional wrestler.

The difference between him and Andy is that Andy, however annoying some of his skits may have been, always had people entertained regardless if you loved or hated him. The really sad part is, some of the KI people are actually entertained by Derf's moronic behaviour, giving him a reason to continue acting like the aol translator abortion he is. As long as even one person is entertained by Derf's mindless ramblings, his posts remain validated.
