I've recently gotten the pleasure of working on a friend's account and was hoping I could get some advice on what's profitable and a few other things.
what I've come into is a 66Goldsmithing (is it worth taking to a 100? What can I do with it? How do you make money off of it?)
Alchemy 48 (will prolly take to 60)
and 31 smithing, which will probaby go to 60 as well.. Mainly looking for income advice, and such. Let me know please, thanks^^

Well if you have the gil leveling gold isnt a bad option, 60-80 blows really hard but after say 85 it becomes rather profitable, also note that how expensive it is to lvl it also is directly relevant to how fast you level it. Thats a common misconception about that craft, if you also garden things like platinum nuggets you can skillup for profit or break even easily till 99 before you are 100% forced to make orichalcum synths, however this is time consuming and would require a vast quantity of mules to skill it at a fast rate, as well as a decent sized upfront investment.
if you choose to take that route, then yes go for alch and smithing to 60 as they are your main subs, it appears that is what your friend was going for is a goldsmith accnt.
As far as money making off of the craft, id say around 86+2 profit on things like morion and phantom earrings becomes do-able and the further you get after that the more options you have, at 100+3+synth support you are tier 3 on lvl 36 rings, tier 2 on lv54 rings and tier 1 for lv72 rings and that is when you can maximize profit off the craft, server dependant once you reach 80 skill though, 80-87 is a free-ride or a profit ride on skillup if you know some woodworkers. getting to 80 is the bitch part though, anyway hope this helps, if u got more questions read the stickies/guides here, theres tons of good info.
Edit: I dont want to make it sound very dismal, you can profit at any level really, things like ingots and such from nuggets synths but the big money doesnt start till around 85, check out ffxiah for whatever is your server and see what you can do at your lvl is all i have to say, at 66 you dont have great HQ rates on anything yet so things that you can profit on NQ is about your best option, mainly things like sheets and ingots would be my guess
