Any die hard PvP folks thinking about playing either of these two games? WAR is coming out sometime later this year, and Aion is forcasted somtime in 2009. Aion looks like ffxi version 2.0, with a few WoW ideas, and has PvPvE, and War is RvR (realm vs realm) which is pretty interesting.

I'm thinking about playing one of these games since ballista is pretty much dead. It will be nice to play a game where PvP is the main focus and PvE is a side salad.

I might try both, I know people who want to do either lol, was going to rant and rave about how the state of NA ballista is. But when I tried to tell all the sam/rng on siren how they are producing shit matches I got people jumping down my throat. Im sorry but sam/rng does produce a less skilled brand of players. Oh well, I took the advice of one of the maroons who told me to go back to wow since I like it better there, and well, I do =P what can I say! its a lot more fun, and I even, /omg started to slowly start to raid on it

you don't see any sam/rng in uncapped because they are smaller and will get their shit raped. But say in a huge 60 cap JP ballista, sam/rng is very fun because you can get away with chillin in the back , meditate and spam sidewinders for GB. I know because I switched from mnk to sam/rng in 60's just because there are more folks running around, and you can get away with it. lol

Anyways, back on topic, I guess I'll give both games a shot and see which one is funner.

You should really bother to research these things. Cities, yes they are cutting cities to two primarily for balance. At a later date they will add the other cities back in. Races? No. They are getting rid of 4 classes again for balance. Or would you rather have a repeat of AoC with its terribly unbalanced classes. Anyway there are still 20 to pick from, or is that not enough?

OP: The beauty is War is coming out long before Aion. You can try War and if it doesn't tickle your fancy drop it for Aion. I will be trying both, and I hold out high hopes for both. My primary fear is that Aion is going to turn into another Guild Wars. I hope it works out though, it has some of the most incredibly unique mechanics I've seen in an MMO. I also like the Korean super polished graphics, it's just the grinding in such games I'm not crazy about.

i canceled my ffxi IDs havent played it in almost a month. ballista is dead and its never coming back, my friends list is full of offline people who i havent seen in ages.

i wont be posting much more on these forums since i wont be caring about ffxi ever again, im gonna try war cause i want RvR in the meantime tho since im a little short on cash im gonna stick to WoW for a while cause my friends moved there and we can PvP all day long and get something out of it.

Yes maybe you're right,i wanted to try both and see which one was more suitable for me,but after seeing that races/cities on WAR were cutted cause "incomplete" i changed mind,so yea,i might try WAR but i dont think i'll like it

Frisk how can u say theres no sam/rng in nocap? u were on Fenrir with me lol. and any1 that knows me knows im nowhere near a hit and run sam/rng, hell i <3 1v1s as sam/rng and cant run in those.

oh not tryn to start any arguments cause arguing online is lol. just kinda weird to see ppl say ALL sam/rng are just hit and run and i kno im not the only zerger

My bad Vij, I was just replying to Temadian's post about Siren's uncapped. But yes, Fenrir has a shitload of sam/rng in both uncapped and 60's, and I have a lot of respect for those guys that don't run away on Fenrir. I'll probably be back one more time to Fenrir just to enjoy some uncapped action before I quit the game for good. Spending a $100 worth of transfer server fees over the years is getting outta control @.@

But I can say one great thing about serrver transfering: Although majority of people view it as a negative aspect//consequence, I have met so many new ppl. Made many new friends, and had the fun of battling with many folks from different servers. At times I felt like I was in that TV show quantum leap lol, the servers where the same, but things were slightlhy different and tweaked out, which always freaked me out, but was very fun nonetheless.

I'm pretty happy with WoW PVP at the moment. I'll give Aion a try when it comes out, but I'm afraid the game will be just lineage (grindfest, Player Killers camping nebws just outside towns and such), so I don't think I'll play it for long <.< unless it susprises me in some way
I've played the real Warhammer miniature game back in the day and I don't really like the warhammer universe, that's why I haven't looked into WAR at all.

I hope Aion won't be too disappointing ._. or that SE thinks of some way to bring ballista back, lol. Only then I'll reactivate my IDs.

Theres just so much to do on wow IMO, its funny, I got into a sorta argument with someone on ff11 chat rooms lol. He got so pissed off that I said wow was better and ff11 is dull and boring, he kicked me from the room. Ive been playing wow just doing BGs and running around like a loon until recently. Now actually doing the whole gearing / raiding thing a little more. His big rant was well, you dont need to start over with another char to level a new job to max level. And of course, what most people who never gave wow a chance, it looks too cartoony. I mean if you are basing a game just on looks, you really arent giving gameplay a chance, and thats just moronic =p

Lol it's not like XI graphics is any better. : Those people are the same kind of people that will play Aion because it's pretty, even if it sucks as a game.

I was going to mention what happened in EQ before I read it lol. They did that except, they went from the ff11 real look to a more cartoony look like wow. I kept using the older look because it was just horrid, until you HAD to have the new graphics to use mounts, which I hated
