Okay, so I've seen countless threads and tons of info on ZNMs and strategies for each and yadda yadda yadda, but I havent seen ANYTHING yet about actually GETTING Zeni. I'm sure we all know HOW to get it, what I'm looking for here are tips to getting it quickly and (relatively) easily. Anyone got anything to share?

Step 1: Buy Photo Gear
Get an Imperial Gold Piece and head to The Colosseum.
Trade your gold piece to Zandjarl, just inside the zone. In return, the NPC will give you jettons.
Using your jettons, speak to Zandjar again and buy a Soultrapper or a Soultrapper2000, and a stack of Blank Soul Plates or High-Speed Soul Plates.
Note: The more expensive soultrappers and soul plates allow for faster picture-taking. They make photographing mobs easier, but they are not necessary for this purpose.
Step 2: Learn Your Target
Zone into Aht Urhgan Whitegate and find Sanraku and Ryo near the zone to Al Zahbi.
Talk to Sanraku, then Ryo. Ask Ryo about Sanraku's current interests to find out which mobs to photograph.
Note: Sanraku's interest in monsters changes every couple of hours. Bringing him photos after his interests change can result in roughly a 50-percent reduction in the amount of Zeni he gives you.
Step 3: Photograph Your Target
Go find the monster you plan on shooting.
Equip your soultrapper in your ranged slot, and your soul plates in your ammo slot.
Stand in front of your monster and use the soultrapper from your inventory (similar to using an anima) to photograph the mob. To maximize the amount of zeni you are paid per photo, follow these tips:
Bring a sleeper and/or a full party.
Have claim on your mob.
Stand directly in front of the mob, within melee range, when you take your photo.
The lower the mob's HP, the more zeni you get. If possible, battle the mob until its HP is below 5 percent total health. Then sleep it, and continue to sleep it, while taking pictures.
Photograph higher-level mobs to get more zeni for your photos.
Pictures taken by the player that has the most hate on the mob will yield higher zeni results than those players that had less hate.
Step 4: Turn in your Photos
Head back to Sanraku and trade him your soul plates. ''Note: If you want to see how much your photos are worth beforehand, you can trade them to Ryo.
You can turn in 10 soul plates to Sanraku per game day.

marids (big ass guys with tusks) just outside whitegate usually always offer 40-50 zeni, regardless of the subject of interest.
sometimes i jus spam those instead of chasing down water ele or whatever for 20 more points.

Since it wasn't said. Your best bet also is to get a BLM, RDM, BRD, COR, or BLU friend to help for sleep and whatnot.
I don't think level matters too much either. I went after EP Buggards in Vunker Intlet(sp). And the next game day I went after VTs in mamook. The point difference isn't worth the effort form a EP to VT @ 75.

you can just go as a /nin job and let them whack you. obviously sleep helps but it isnt really needed.
also tier2-3+ ZNms seem to give good points, i got 60-70 from nosferatu(tier3 undead) when the subject of interest was oboros (like whos gona fish those up for pts?). also Nos was nowhere near 0% when i was taking pics, i think lowest i got was like 54pts

If you dont want to deal with going after monster of interest you could always go down to the Dimensional Portal (Found in the Mea, Dem , and Holla) and kill the Aw'euvhi that give the cards for limbus. You can usually solo but to be on the safe side take a buddy rdm or blm to help sleep; also you have to remember that these are considered NM's and WILL RAGE IN 20 MINS. The good thing is you get 60+ Zeni per pic. Hope this helps
Edit: Silly me didn't look at the date of the original post, sorry!!

Another thing to keep in mind is monster level. Naturally monsters of higher level tend to grant more Zeni. However you don't need to fight IT mobs to get decent point values. even DC mobs can get you the desired 70-90. However not all monsters are the same, I've yet to figure out exactly how Zeni values are calculated beyond Level and current HP. Some IT mobs can give you 99, others can grant 70.
Some monsters, typically beastmen type, seem to have a higher resistance to the soultrapper itself. Many Lamia and Mamool Ja seem to show this. If you are getting bad resists on these types of beastmen, try a different one of another job. I suspect that mage type mobs tend to cause this, but it's hard to know without trying every different job. Typically though I'd avoid blu blm and whm mamools if you do run into that as the subject of interest. If anyone has any information on soultrapper resist rates, I'd also like to hear it.
Obviously another tip is to make a Pankration pet. Some people tend to half ass it by just using gold coins to get your soultrappers. Making Jettons is very easy though so I recommend it. Especially if you're going to use the soultrapper 2000, you'll want to just get free jettons from fighting in the pit.

I would have to agree with mightyg as far as the method to obtain jettons, I always though pankration was a waste of time until I just did it recently on a whim and ended up with 15k+ jettons in a very short amount of time. Better yet it was at zero cost or imperial standing.
