Have any of you tried this combo?
I've played it at several different levels, starting at around 60 working in The Boyahda Tree. Next, I moved on to Wajaom Woodlands, throwing Bees @ Lesser Colibri and exp really picked up. I was able to solo chain 5s with ease with this setup.
My next solo venture was bees/spiders vs Puks closer to 64/65 and I just recently picked it up again after months, leveling to 68 in parties. Once 68, you have access to one of the best solo camps around for several levels: Bhaflau Thickets Tigers/Leeches vs Colibri. I've soloed from 68>70 here so far, nearing 71. I was able to get chain 4s before 70 (and before leave), but it's picked up even moreso with it.
Now, I mostly leveled BST to 75 as /NIN in solo/duo and I must say, I feel that NIN/BST is even easier when it comes to this. I use Fudo/Hornetneedle(low dmg) and my pets do the tanking for the most part, but the sweet thing about being NIN is that you can actually co-tank just fine with your pets, unlike a BST. I usually Jubaku>Hojo>Kurayami all before putting my pet on the mob so that the reflected spells bounce back to my shadows instead of enfeebling my pet.
Regen sanction+War shinobi gi is a godsend when it comes to this.
Just sharing my experiences thus far with the combo, as i'm a BST lover and a NIN lover. If anyone has anything they've done differently/would like to add, please do. I really like this combo. ^^

Got 71 this morning. Heading back out now. I've actually come across two JP NINs doing this around my camp at different times as well, these past couple of days.
Anyone on here have any thoughts at all about it?

this is a bst's journal... he starts off as like bst16 or so... and a quick search showed me around page 5 and bst60 he started doing some nin/bst too at about level 30, and after capping 75/37 bst/nin and ended up going back and soloing nin the rest of the way
interesting read

Yeah that's basically what I'm doing. You'd be surprised how well the combo works.
His last page is basically what i've been doing so far. Interesting stuff. ^^

there's some jobs where subbing bst is amazing actually...
not darkknight. lol. Though i did use DRK/BST and low CHR...
Absorb-CHR's only use other than to weaken bards an unnoticable amount.. charm rate seems to be 100% on things like orc nm's and such, need resist charm itamz..

I tried it briefly in the 70s on Flamingos. Worked fine, but it was pretty slow XP/hr. Would depend on the camp though, that was never an especially fast camp.

i guess nin/bst would be slightly less effective in sky, save for being able to tank your mischarms you shouldnt be meleeing dolls... (until the very end anyway)

I was doing Flamingo vs Flamingo, not against pots/dolls.
At level 72, in part because of all the latents you have to break at that point. I had done the same on BST at 72, and subjectively it wasn't as bad, but 3-3.5k/hr now is just slow. It's pretty laid back XP though, since you convert one of the Flamingos in each pair on an island to EM and just run a loop. At 73 it drops off since they can be DC.
