i wonder if a DEX build for DRG would be worth it.. i mean.. yea you're getting more bang from your Drakesbane, but in the process you'll have to pass on a whole lot of other stats.. like Haste and Store TP and so on..
DRG is pretty fortunate to have the weapons, stats and eq to back up various build types...
Haste works really well together with Store TP cos of /SAM.. and haste gear and so on.
With DEX build and Drakesbane tho, it'd seem like you're putting all your eggs into 1 basket. Its also pretty tough to work on this. Drakesbane is 50% STR modded according to results thus far... so i dunno if my logic is sound here, but going all DEX may not necessarily provide the best results from Drakesbane, and yet doing so is supposed to primarily enhance the WS as it is.

Don't think anyone's suggesting using a crit build for TP but for this WS, on birds and only birds, I think it would be worth it. For anything else you're probably gonna need more Accuracy and have to lose some of your DEX anyway so go STR/Accuracy there.

1205 points at floor 55 as of Sunday night. Should get WS on Wednesday when we climb to 70. I know I said I was just going to wait and get points at 80+, but I figured why not meet somewhere in the middle.
Making skillchains with a great katana NPC is awesome by the way. Fill the differences in TP gain with Leg Sweep spam. I've been killing the DC quadav near the outpost in Pashhow Marshlands (S) and got my NPC 4 levels, about 30 KS and BS, and a merit or two, not to mention all the chestplates and backplates to sell and that was all this weekend. Just pray your NPC uses a lot of Tachi: Gekkos.
Regarding builds for the weapon skill, I think it would be silly not to focus on STR after the requisite accuracy is met when it has a 50% mod. I'll most likely be using the same build I use for Penta Thrust and Skewer and toy with things from there.

Any news on what the hidden modifier might be? If any?
What is it on the other weapons? I only know DRK is Souleater and PLD is Enmity.
Was thinking maybe for drg it depends if wyvern is out or not, or wyverns or your own HP. Anyone care to try it out? I've been away 2 weeks so got a lot to catch up on. DOn't even have the radiant lance yet.

Clearly Wyvern HP.
Wouldn't surprise me if they missed it out all together though. Elemental Breath attacks are like a hidden (crap) modifier for all DRG WSs.

Wow quickest answer ever, are you using a responding bot?
So has anyone done any tests or is that just your personal opinion?

I heard from a friend, but thats about as conclusive as a badger.
I don't really think it could be anything else to be honest. It would be awesome if it was (a reason to wear wHP+ gear while WSing is just hawt).
It's probably something like Ancient Circle though. Drakesbane and a JA that gives Dragon Killer. It has SE writen all over it.
As for the fast responce; I'm the spam lord of spammy goodness, you expect any less?

498 out of 12000 points into Radiant Lance before I can unlock this Weaponskill.

Hopefully my Nyzul Set will let me climb floors on my disc or I'll start shouting with randoms. *shudder*

Hit floor 30 yesterday, by friday will be at floor 50 so should have the skill by then.
I actually started thinking about what I can do in terms of gear for this my current setup is as follows
Tp
weapon: Thalassocrat
grip: pole
ammo: angons (fully merited is a wonderful thing)
head:W.turban
neck: love torque
earings:brutal/ethereal
body:homam corazza
hands: homam
rings: ult/rajas
back: foragers
belt: swift belt
legs: homam
feet: homam
WS
head: hecatomb cap
neck: love torque
earings: brutal/pixie or triumph
body: Hecatomb harnes
hands: Hecatomb mits or alky's
rings: rajas/flame
back: foragers
belt: warwolf
legs: hecatomb subligar
feet: hecatomb leggings
all merits are capped if that offers anything

Alkys seems counter-productive, both to your accuracy and reducing the crit%.

Finally got Drakesbane last night. I got to play with it in Einherjar (/NIN) and a little Campaign (/WHM), but no prime DD situations. Regardless, I can already see that it lives up to my expectations which were fairly high. It easily out damages my Penta Thrusts and Skewers. In fact, I replaced my Skewer macro with Drakesbane. So far I've only used it with my Penta/Skewer setup, bit will try swapping some gear around the next time I merit to see what's best.
Aesthetically, this weapon skill is awesome. The animation is perfect with its impact flashes, and I'm a fan of the blue/green coloring. The sound effects are amazing, exactly what you'd expect to hear with each thrust's impact and the final wind-up. Seriously, kudos to SE's team for their work on this weapon skill.

Had a drg in my party last night and fighting in Mammol north camp. Hitting for about 800-1500 normally but was pretty consistant.
I was impressed.

I hate SE
I have 40k worth of points in Nyzul but never started my own disk. I have far better things to do with my time than get 14000 points of WS for 5 jobs. I think this whole thing is ridiculous. I will eventually get around to marching up Nyzul on my own but, I hate this shit.

I had no disk and no lance when the update hit. Busted my butt and got a group together that Wednesday and started up. The hardest part was just taking charge and organizing people. Two weeks later and I'm at floor 70 and will be at 100 next week. The system is acceptable in my eyes.

They said it was for casual players yet you have to bust your ass? Yeah.....
It takes two weeks for you, imagen how long it'll take people who are casual >______>
Honestly, the used WS points again. That was auto-fail. WS points have never been a good idea.
