15 pots and only 1 gave me Lightning ore. I know its a low chance of getting ore but I'm sure 2 or maybe 3 out of that many?

I am sure this is common right? unless I did something slightly different. Harvested on Lightning day, checked on them frequently

Average (in my experience) is 1/10. If you get 0/10 you got unlucky and if you get 2/10 you got very lucky.

It's probability, but you need to have enough pots going for it to average out, 15 is not enough. You need to offer yourself enough opportunity for the odds to even out.

Light ORe is really really challenging as a reciept. You really have to do a great job spreading your checks between lights and darks day. You also simply MUST harvest on a full moon and plant on the same. These factors matter more for light ore than any other elemental ore. Ice is far more tolorant and the NPC items are far better (Plat. LEaves)
