Fanfest website updated recently, and from the looks of it, to all aspiring video entrants, there won't be a video contest or even a display this year. It's probably because they're squashing everything into one day. In prior years, have they announced the contest later, closer to the actual fanfest? I doubt it for this year since the schedule is up and nothing's mentioned.

When the Fanfest site first went up I emailed them about it and got this reply;

That was one of the best parts of FFXI Fan Fest and why are they just cutting it to a one day event? Its not even worth flying out there then : (

Not unless people from your LS or server plan on doing something more together the day before or day after.

I tend to feel the same way. I really wanted to go this year, since I couldn't last year and I thought the moogle caps were awesome... But... One day? $180 a night at the hotel? Ugh. I think it's too rich for my blood this year.

Good for you, man. I tend to think they might play 'em during one of their 'special events' they have scheduled, and at the very least, it'll show the biggest name of the Fanfest video competition is still dedicated enough to send vids in with or without a contest... It might just encourage them to bring it back next year. We can hope, right?
