I was writing a paper over integration of video games into western culture when I came across this.
Discuss.
My Opinion: I'm against this whole heartedly. I stop watching TV this time of year because I don't want to watch all the stupid campaign shit. I've made up my mind already. I don't want more bull shit shoved in my face while I'm trying to play video games. I don't care if it's from a candidate I'm for or against.

I think that's understand able to not want it in your face so much, but if its kind of just off to the side then I don't think its that big a deal. I think it has potential to help remind people to register or whatever, seeing how the vast community of gamers tend to...procrastinate every now and again. I'm not for, but only against when it comes to a load screen with the voteforchange.com for 15 mins on purpose just to annoy people. I'm not to worried though since FFXI is really all I have time to play anymore though. Good luck to everyone else who might come across these games though.

Apparently the fact that Obama denigrated video games and gamers last year has been forgotten, as is so often true, as his campaign tries to grab every demographic that he has insulted.

At least they're only temporary ads, so they'll be gone before the holidays. I'd hate it if I would play the game 8 months from now and still see political slogans on the walls.
