I have to say, being a Star Trek fan myself but not a full-blown-dress-up-as-a-Furangi-Trekkie, but this looks good so far; refreshing even.

It's nice if this is going to be a restart of the franchise like what has been done with James Bond (with Daniel Craig), Batman, Super Man, and even The Hulk (2008 version).

When will the second trailer come out? ><

Having been brought up on Star Trek (My dads a trekkie sadly ; wink.gif I'm quite intruiged to see how this will turn out. I don't really know many of the other actors, aside from Harold, but as a big Simon Pegg fan, seeing him as Scotty will be interesting. I wonder how good his Scottish accent is lol "AHH CANNAE DO IT CAPN, I DON'T HAVE THE POOWWWRRRR!"

Citing times!

He should be fine, something as trivial as the Scottish accent never stopped Doohan making a career out of it. He's even 'a ginger' laugh.gif

Thank you for the PM Kras!

Just seeing the trailer in 720p made me giddy with excitement. XD

I can't wait now, and it looks like there is a really good chance this may restart the series and begin anew. It feels like the old series reborn again just by seeing the trailer. On top of which, it's a great chance to see where and how "James Tiberius Kirk" got his start.

There is one caveat I noticed, well, maybe two:
- Didn't they build the USS Enterprise in space and not on the ground? Or, did I miss something in the Star Trek history book?

- Is it just me or did Kirk and Ulhara were a thing back then?

Even though it's not explicitly stated, I'm sure there will be a certain amount of "retcon" taking place in the film. Trek writers have indicated in the past that the extensive lore has become a source of burden for penning good stories. Personally I think they should have left Trek alone for a few more years to recover before bringing it back into the limelight, but JJA is very talented and I'm sure he'll do an above average job on this one. I'd rather see a good film not 100% faithful to trek lore than just another trek movie.
