Ok so I'm trying to raise my bird into a racing bird and I'm trying to get the two stories to help me with the racing bird. "Story of a Curious Chocobo" and "Story of an Impatient Chocobo". Now when it says it can be obtained from walks with *insert NPC name here*. Is it from the option "Take a walk in town." Or when you take your chocobo for a walk yourself? And does it matter if it is a Short walk or Regular walk?

You have to take your chocobo on a walk yourself NOT the trainer. And after you meet a NPC 3 times he will give you the story. You don't have to be at a certain town you can get both of those stories at any town.

On this same topic I was hoping someone could clarify something for me. I've read on different sites contradictions on how to obtain the Gallop song coming from windy. Some places say I have to take my chocobo for long walks to meet the elvaan to get it and some say it's on regular walks. Does anyone know from personal experience which one it is? It's been a while since I raised my last chocobo and I can't remember now, but I want to make sure I know so I can work towards getting it ASAP when my new choco hits different stages of life.

Depends on which city you're raising your chocobo in as far as I know.
Think it's a long walk in Bastok.... not sure though
