Can you still break the latent effect of trial weapons while level-synced, or does the syncing nullify that feature of the weapon? I just wonder if it matters what level you are so long as you can equip the weapon, or does the scaling-down of the weapon remove whatever mechanism adds weaponskill points to it.

Has anyone managed to prove this either way?

honestly i don't think anybody is sure about that. how everi was in a lvl scynced party with my drk and had trial weapon on and it seemed to break latent when it was suposed to counting points from a scynced party but even i could be wrong

Was helping some LS members with Promy Vahzl on my MNK so I decided to use my Burning Fists. I checked my Latent Checker after the run and it went up so I think it'll work.

I have tried my nyzul weapon in a lot of areas, so far Campaign, Dynamis and Limbus don't count. You need to be able to check mobs lvls as something EP and above for the points to kick in.

Go to Google, type in Weaponchecker. Its on the BG forums. You will have to zone for them to be updated.

How does Weaponchecker work?

I am not an expert on it, but it checks your game for any of the latent/mystic/trial weapons that are in your gobbie bag. It will give you a point total of how many points you have on that weapon. You must zone for it to refresh but other then that, its a great tool.
