Take the final home game of the Redskins before Election Day. If the Redskins win, the incumbent party stays in office. If the Redskins lose that final home game before election day, the incumbent party loses and the only other real political party in this democracy takes office.

How long has this been happening? Since 1936, when the Redskins were actually playing out of the Boston area as the Boston Redskins and their win over the Chicago Cardinals saw incumbent Franklin D. Roosevelt was re-elected as the Democratic President.

Since 1936, the Redskins final home game before Election Day had correctly predicted the winners of 17 straight elections until Dubya won in 2004, bucking the trend.
