COUNTRIES (Imaginary Lines)

Ah the land in which you popped out of... such a glorious thing? Is it not? But what is a country really? I mean, who defines what the borders are? What I see is a set of imaginary lines, being guarded by people who have love for a piece of land, dirt, soil and manure. In a world where Humans are slowly evolving, still trying to surpass their inherent "caveman", we still quarrel over petty things such as territory, and "where that oil really belongs"

MONEY

This rectangular note, consisting of a mixture of cotton and linen, will and forever be used as a medium of exchange. But here in lies the dilemma. Is it not that this printed note, is just something that we believe in? After all, breaking things down to their core, it's nothing but an elaborately designed bill, that we believe in so much, that it has become a reality. I mean, it had to be made right? Since "honesty" and "trust" are just words we hear, but never really expect from any person. We need to rely on proof, we need proof that you worked hard, in exchange for three dollars worth of rice. Money, is just something we believe in, and it works.

OBAMA AS PRESIDENT

How long does it take, for people to accept things really? I mean what has it been, 40+ years since people of different skin color spoke out against oppression? And now, 4 decades later, it's finally been solidly confirmed that race is starting to slowly fade away from the human perception, and realize that they're humans too, just like everyone else?... Slow, slow evolving people, need to pick up the pace a little.

SCIENCE & RELIGION

Ah, a popular conflicting topic.

Science: A series of mentally concocted speculations and theories, trying to solidly explain reality and all it's workings, so that the frustrated atheist, who's too fat and ugly can explain a "logical" reason for why he can't get laid. Well it's because his genetics aren't fit to pass on to the next generation of course! Oh by the way, if the "Big Bang" really happened, where the F*** did the highly compressed matter come from in the first place? Or did that just magically appear along with everything else, for no apparent reason? Such a mundane view of the world.

Religion: Is for people hoping for a better existence, or when "the shit hits the fan" they come crying for God to help them. But when everything is fine and dandy, they can do it on their own, "God, who the heck is that?". Most people also just assert themselves to belong to a particular faith, not knowing squat about it, only that they were born into a family who once followed a spiritual path. Also this squabble over "Who's God is stronger and better" is another pathetic attempt to see which race is the dominant one, and who the creator apparently favored more. Whether or not there is a creator, is not my place to say, but obviously your explanations of a "Supreme Being" are pretty elementary if you ask me.

MORALS

What are these? I sat and thought one day, what makes it so (and using this as an example) that if someone looks at me the wrong way, I can't pull out my 9mm and shoot him in the genitals? I mean animals fight to the death over mates everyday, and they aren't sent to prison, in fact, they're rewarded. On the other hand, if I went out and did the same thing, police would promptly take me into custody, all because of this fancy word they call "rape" is not something 'moral' to preform. Besides according to "mister scientist" all you are is atoms and molecules jumbled together, it's amazing how you can even think or move...

STINKY A** FOOD

As I walk through the food court of the local mall, my destination is the urinal in which to release some built up liquid, after consuming half a dozen Heineken in under 30 minutes. As a waft of a searing sour smelling breeze, enters my nostrils forcing me to almost choke and gag at what you people think is so delightful to consume. I mean what the hell do you guys eat, seriously? You call hamburgers, shwarma and crusty old pizza, FOOD!? Not to mention that, Garlic and Onion is basically in every recipe everywhere... I mean just look at the ingredients next time you're at a local grocery store, I guarantee that it will consist of some form of Garlic and/or Onion. Your diet is so limited, it's disgusting...

TRANCENDANT THOUGHT

This is evolution, this is where so called "evolution" begins. It goes beyond simple reproduction (but damn is that still fun to do), it is escaping boundaries, breaking free from matter and the separation of consciousness from it. This is where the being that trancends the label "Human" prevails, and accomplishes what most of us struggle with trying to achieve, which is real progression.

PREDICTABILITY

I know, this is the flame section of the forums after all, and I expect no less then simple posts such as the common place "stfu noob" and "L2troll" to pop up every other post, but this is a rant, a very analytical rant that seeks to point out simple things that are overlooked and/or taken too seriously in every day life. So to all you epic people out there, Have a Day~

Sooooooooo... where do you sit in all of this, exactly? From reading that, it makes me think you believe yourself to be a transcended being of some immaculate design.

I'm simply pointing out, at how the mass majority of this so called "advanced civilization" is actually full of a predominating ignorance, and individuality as we know it, is lost. With all the current television programs that numb our minds, the textbooks in schools and universities filled with useless knowledge and an obsession with hip-hop music, have pushed us into what seems like a downward spiral. This state of regression, is merely observed by myself, and shocked at how very little people have come to realize the same things.

I forgot to mention.

DOG SHIT "PICKER UPPERS"

You have a pet, right, you walk your dog. But as I stroll by the nearest park, I see that people are mistakingly claiming to be the "Master" when it comes to a "MAN/DOG" relationship. What master picks up his servants own fecal matter, as they sit there enjoying the excretion of waste from the depths of their well fed digestive tract? This is practically a sign of how much we live in an upside-down surreal world. But hey, if it tickles your fancy to clean up after your dog, I'm not really sure who's the "Master" here...

Be happy you live in a retarded but stable world where everything is controlled. Think about it can you really handle individuality and 100% freedom. The more dominant person will always be on top but with rules set in place it guarantees you the little person at the bottom is not reduced to noting and you still exist.

You seem to be implying that countries, in and of themselves, are an ancient relic with little value now that we have evolved past cavemen. Yet, consider Hobbes' Leviathan. Without civil states, man is at war with everyone. As a result, personal safety is limited at best and people fear the death that is liable to occur at any moment. Once we have created a state, with rules and boundaries, as determined by people who share a common heritage, language, geographical location, or any number of other methods for determining nationality, we can rise up from this so called "State of Nature." Once we have done this, one of the natural laws is to seek peace, because this ensures the safety of us and those around us.
The quarreling you referred to is explained by Hobbes' second law of nature, wherein a man must give up his rights when self-defence and peace require him to. However, he must only do so when others are willing to do the same, because to expose oneself to predators works against the peace created by the civil state.

Your specific examples (shooting someone for looking at you the wrong way, and rape) are both contrary to Hobbes' second law of nature, for "as long as every man maintains his right to do anything he likes, all men are in the condition of war." But I've already covered that and to speak of it more would be redundant.

Kant's Categorical Imperative comes in to play, though. Shooting someone in the genitals for looking at you the wrong way is a terrible universal law, most notably because it takes us back to a "State of Nature." After all, if you can do it to someone else, then what's to stop them from doing it to you?

You might also consider Baruch Brody. He said that morals develop out of rational self-interest. We act morally (morals depending, of course, on your specific culture, time period, etc.) so that others will act morally, which benefits us. If we develop and create a society based on morals, then we can presume that these morals will be shared and acted upon by those around us. For example, a society where theft is morally wrong. By living in this society and acting on it's morals (ie not stealing), we can count on (to a certain degree) freedom from theft. Where that fails, due to an immoral minority of people, we can count on them being punished for their actions, which works to further reinforce the morals of the society, because people see the consequences of breaking this social moral contract.

The rest of your points, such as food, Obama, or cleaning up after your dog, I'm not going to bother to address. They reek of a first year university student who sat around his dorm with his friends and figured out how the world "really works." As for one of your final statements, that this was a "very analytical rant", here you are completely incorrect. You have barely scratched the surface of morality or philosophy in general. Why don't you take some time, get a library card (or look it up online, if you wish), do some research, and come back after you've learned something.

My response to this is, if you find mind numbing routines happiness, that's about a 180 flip from what my view on things are. Call me crazy but, this "stability" is boring, there's no real fight left, except for a competition of who's going to be the richest, or most "successful" (which basically means accumulating the most wealth) by coming up with some invention, idea or catchy pop song, for our now peaceful civilization.

Wake up, go to work, come back home, sleep, work, sleep, work. This constant day in and day out of non stop monotonous repetition is only temporarily cured, by taking mass amounts of intoxicants (going to the pub) by some, or immersing themselves in a fictitious world of video games, movies or television programs.

Why? Because deep down, they wish their existence to have more depth, in which is currently deprived of in today's society. The main problem here is that, there's an imbalance in wanting to make everyone's life "happy". But this core belief is a false aim of trying to create a utopia that can never exist, because as the famous saying goes "You can't have one without the other". "Day and Night" polar opposites exists for a reason, because if you were permanently happy, I'm pretty sure it'd be boring to a point where it's almost a hellish reality.

And thus comes to my point of how people are less poetic now than ever before. All that is left now is the word "emo" that describes people who have depth, longing for a world with color, not some gray coated paradise, this "asphalt jungle". So I say to you, that your view on a world in which 100% freedom and individuality predominated, seems to be the classic chaotic effect, where everyone is running around with weapons, in a post apocalyptic nightmare.

But hey, if it were so chaotic... I doubt it would be anything but boring.

Oh please Mr. Highly Educated one, show us your diploma before you speak, and enlighten us on topics which we are so desiring to understand. But not before we kneel down to your exceptional capabilities of studying Kant and Brody.

All I get from this is, some kind of false pride in quoting other people such as Hobbes' with no originality in your own statements. I speak of a matter pertaining to transcendence, yet all you can speak of are past philosophers and their observations on *ahem* how the world "really works". Almost as if your just a recording, with no individuality of your own. Of course, Hobbes' statement that without creating such morals or ethics, that we'd be in a constant state of war, is yet another display of how we as a species cannot, and are certainly fearful of coming to the core of what it means to be an individual.

My point is that, evolving comes from conjoining everyone together on the planet, as a singular whole, but yet as many individuals, with different levels of understanding and capabilities.

This transcendent state is called "Simultaneous Oneness and Difference"

Now what I'll probably hear from this is something like "you communist!", but its far from such a state. But alas, destructive tendencies still arise in the mind of each person, when the thought of having "too much freedom" is put forth. Why? Go ahead, quote your Hobbes' again, but If this is something we cannot overcome, as individuals, then I doubt seeing us ever transcending our current state of being.

If it was like that the stronger people would still wipe their ass with you and you wouldn't survive very long.
http://www.cnn.com Imagine yourself in the position of that kitten, and no one will be there to help you. People are lazy these days because they can get everything they need to survive and more without any problems. If you wanna do something go out and do it. Sitting in front of a computer and complaining to 5 people that you cant do anything to prove your existence to yourself wont help your problem. Go out and find what you are looking for, there is always something that will meet what you are looking for.

I'm of the opinion the OP was picked on as a child... and now years later this is his way at attempting to lash out at a so called "inferior" world. If ignored he'll probably just go away.

Other parts were already touched on by other people, but usually it's a good idea not to generalize a group of people as "fat and ugly" merely because they do not believe in a deity. Last time I checked, the two don't really have a solid correlation. Then again, this is Flame Wars, so that's pretty much free game, more power to you, it just dispels the seriousness you seemed to be attempting to convey.

I'll admit ignoring it isn't the best course of action, but dealing with guys like this as often as I do you become bored of dealing with it.

Also, I'm not fat, I like to think I'm one of the more athletic and physically active people who read these forums.

There seems to be the stereotypical assumption that the one posting this topic, is some fat ass nerd, who cries to himself every night, as opposed to an actually intellectually frustrated person, who's fed up with today's current way of living. Excuse me, but I'm not trying to flex my e-peen, that's not my intention here, but you speak in a way that there are people with almost superhuman like strength that would "wipe their ass with me". As if such people are a common sight, yet rarely do I see hulking supermen walking around, that could literally destroy me within seconds.

Besides, I'm pretty sure a smart fat person with a weapon, could easily kill a muscle bound idiot, who relies solely on the strength of his own fists, disregarding the use of his somewhat depraved intellect.

Brains > Brawn, or didn't you know that already?

Oh and yea, I'm pretty sure a ticking time bomb will just go away if you leave it alone.

In your entire post, you mentioned the word, or words related to, "transcendence" in 3 sentences. So pardon me for not realising that the smallest part of your ideas is, in fact, your main point. You might want to lead with it, or expand on it more, so that people will read it the way you want them to.

As for these destructive tendencies you abhor, why do we have them? We have them because they were, and are, necessary for survival. Humans evolved in a world where other animals are bigger, faster, and stronger. Humans had to be ready to defend themselves, and we still do. Sadly, violence will always be a part of ourselves. If transcending our current state of being means giving up violent tendencies, as opposed to simply the violence itself, which is what happens when we leave the State of Nature, then we are stuck where we are. I can't give up violent tendencies and more than you can.

I do desire something, I don't know if it's specifically a war perhaps, maybe a revolution or something. But hey if there's fighting or struggles then hey, why not.

Make me feel like I'm apart of something? Maybe, I'm not entirely sure, but something along those lines would most likely make me feel alive.
