Lol @ Diabolos. This game sucks, are you all still so entrenched in this mediocre game that you fail to see its a waste of time, as it is completely outdated and has nothing worthwhile anymore?
Its the same crap as its been since Rise of the Zilart.

i still like it better then WoW, Age of Conan, Warhammer, Matrix, Starwars galaxies, city of heros/villians ect.
its a stable game with a solid story line . and a difficult challenge compared to spending 3 weeks to cap out a dude on WoW (which i did btw)
love it or hate it. we still got plenty of people to hang with and i dont have to worry about the Halloween events destroying the npcs in town every year.
nor do i have to worry about SE taking my shaman and gimping him. ill stick with FFXI. its like the pet you always wanted no matter how lazy or a pain in the a$$ it is. you still love it no matter how old it is.

lol @ calling leveling a challenge. leveling in ffxi is not a challenge. it's seeking all day for a party that is. afterwards it's boring macro spam for hours on end until 75. btw, quite a few people leveled to 75 in two weeks. wow recently added 10 more levels, what has ffxi done? oh, and one more thing. lol @ leveling to cap(what? 60?) in 3 weeks. lrn2lvl

ROFL that wasnt the halloween event. that was the wrath of the lich king expansion opening event which btw will NEVER happen again. basically the lich king attacked the towns and the troops were deployed to northrend to fight him. wow! storyline! i bet you just read all the whining somewhere, never played it and added it to ur anti-wow campaign. well, I can do that too:

i guess you have forgotten that not all things can be soloed and require more people and the correct setups. in order to beat. just like any game. so its difficult to get the required people at the time of ones choosing.

i underlined the lat part of your sentence becasue it struck me as odd since your some knowledgeable wow person you had no idea that the cap befor WOTLK was 70 not 60....

you call nerfing shamans balance? were you born stupid or do you work at it? if wow was about balance explain rogues? o and my personal favorite Fear. as for me leveling DRG leveling a difficult job as a difficult time taught me . how to do my job to the best of my abilities and to explore the game. taking the time i needed to develop the skills needed. as well as meeting people and making friends. unlike wow were you give 2 craps about anyone until your ready to raid. love it our hate it but be a man. ffxi is not outdated. it is based around the style of other ff games. and contunuies to keep that aspect to itself to maintain its core players. so whats next in wow spaceships? or lazer guns

i personally dont see a need for a graphic overhaul like wow just did. there is no need. in a game that is cross playform you have to make sure everyone is completely supported. wow doesn't have this issue to worry about because it is not been ported to anything. increased graphic detail leads to increased lag in raids & dynaimis. changing the game to support only those who can afford monster pc's or video cards. its nothing more then to promote the sales of newer pc's
id rather keep my graphics the same. and pay teh 10 bucks (x3 ) for the up coming 3 expansions for ffxi at the first of the year. and wait for the free game update in a few days thats adding more missions and events.
but enjoy your wow. im off to go Campaign and get a few more merits before ohat runs tonight.o
P.S.
remember you just paid $50.00 for 10 more levels that you will more then likely get in 5 days. Way to go thx for supporting the economy

The graphics overhaul didn't hurt my PoS Windows XP PC from 2003... It still runs wow fine. I really don't see why people who play either game feel the need to bash people who play the other, yeah, FFXI's storyline may be better, but the ridiculous grind ends up not being fun at all, where as with WoW i can level whenever i feel like it(unlike 10hr LFG on ffxi). Wotlk is $40 and added a new continent, new raids, new instances, new gear, new quests, new mounts, new items, and more, not just 10 more levels.
btw, capping out a toon at lv60(prebc)70(bc)80(wotlk) includes fully gearing it, not just getting there in blues and greens
Both games have something to offer various people, but whether or not you play one or the other doesnt make you any better than someone else, because in the end we're all a bit damned nerdy for simply playing an MMO...................... so GTFO your high horses, they are just games.
