I haven't seen a post about it yet, so just wondering what peoples opinion are about it so far?

Pretty much they tried to make the interface look like the Wii.

Hmm, not quite. The only Wii aspect they used were the Avatars. The GUI is actually ripped from the both Wii and PS3 (channels and flip through menus, respectively). Although, you can't really do much with the channels right now except turn off the intro one for the "new experience".
In all honesty, it rocks. The menus were just so cumbersome and "bulky"; It's so easy now to navigate everything now since the store eveything is seperated by type now. Disc-based add-ons have a separate channel from Arcade, and and both are separate from movie and TV. The avatars blow Miis out of the water due to more detail and options. Plus the option to download entire an entire game from the disc it's on is nice. Especially for those who whine about the 747-like sound the 360 has while on.
I will admit, they ripped too much from the Wii when they implemented Avatars: when making one, there's even Wii-like music.

As an addendum to this, I was invited by Sony to participate in the Beta of PlayStation Home.
It's a beta, that's for sure. Avatars are waaaaaay more detailed than XBL or Miis, however that's the only "wow" factor. What has me pissed about Home is the fact it's a total rip of Second Life, in that if you want anything different for you apartment or your person, you'll have to spend IRL dollars to get it.

Just another way to try and cash in on the virtual market, they want kids to ask for their parents credit cards with no concept of how much they actually spend.

Yeah NXE is pretty cool, Waaaaay better then the old dashboard. It seems like that got everything together, and made it well organized. Not to mention you can party up with friends and play games together or play different ones. For final fantasy it makes endgame fun!

Kind of responding late, but the NXE GUI is based off of the Windows Media Center interface. Its not a rip of the Wii's or the PS3's. Of course, it is similar to the PS3's in general navigation, but the Xbox360's is much more user-friendly.
