Hey everyone.
I have a few questions about footwork.
First, is it possible to 3 kicks in a row ? like the normal kick + the double attack + the kick attack ?
Since Footwork + DK gives 27 TP back, can we have a 5-6 hit build as mnk ? with what gear ? haste or store tp ?
What would be the best leg armor, B.haidate or AF˛ that add more kicks ?
I'm kinda new to mnk 75 and i dont have the stuff to do the test myself so i'm asking here if some ppl already did any.

Footwork does not appear to "Double Attack." Rather, the second kick seems to be based on your Kick Attack rate (based on the fact that you can "double kick" while subbing something like Dancer without Brutal Earring). A triple attack wouldn't happen, even if you somehow had the Triple Attack trait (Indra Katars only affect themselves).
I'd have to do some calculating to examine the possibility of an X-hit build, but I'm going to tentatively say that it isn't worth it. Even with the damage that Dune Boots output, it's really not fully comparable to a real two-handed weapon user and Dragon Kick still has a fairly low top-end compared to, say, Steel Cyclone or Tachi: Whatever. On an HNM type of target, it might be worthwhile, but for merits and comparable situations (ZNMs, Salvage, Limbus, etc.), you probably want to stick to the fists. I'm open to being wrong, though; my head hurts too much to do the hard thinking about it.
For armor, I'd opt towards Byakko's Haidate. Haste does affect Footwork and the Kick Attacks +6 is basically operating like Double Attack. In that respect, Haste is an exponential function, whereas Kick Attacks are linear, and since a Brown Belt and (probably) Walahra Turban are given, you're going to be better off with Byakko's Haidate. Additionally, there's the 15 DEX, which is a substantial Accuracy boost and some enhancement to critical hit rate.

Footwork is strange ability one that i cant seem to peg down...
On one hand when i double kick i get tons of TP and can do a nice dragon kick for sc but when i kick only once.. its just slow and usally id have done more dmg with fists...before possible double attack or kick.
on top of that there is plenty of gear for kick attacks that help the 2nd kick.. hell even a weapon now "Useshi"
but so far with melee hose 4/5 kick merits dune boots and Useshi.. its just a toy for some possible spike in TP IF im lucky...
Footwork makes any Double attack triple attack Crit+ (on a weapon) void but normal stats like attack acc Kickattacks+ still work
a little something to think about for messing with footwork but... dose not really change the fact that a high delay mnk with 1 hand tied behind his back is still a 1 handed mnk.. that MIGHT swing 2 times.. i guess its to much to ask for to have Footwork help Mnks just fight HNM and harder mobs..

Both +Double Attack and +Kick Attack gear/merits affect the 'extra' attack you get while using Footwork. During my early testing it appeared that +DA provided 2x as much as normally listed. IE: wearing a Brutal Earring would increase your double attack rate by 10% rather than 5%, subbing /war would increase by 20% rather than 10%, etc. But no, you'll never get 3 kicks in one round.
For X-hit builds, you can get a 7 hit build with Usukane body + Rajas Ring, otherwise it'd be an 8 hit build. (I keep thinking Usukane feet would do it, but then remember that you won't be wearing them while using Footwork...) Note: that assumes you're using Dragon Kick. With Asuran Fists you can get a 7 hit (assuming 6/8 hits land) with just Rajas + Brutal + C.Chain.
It's theoretically possible to make a 6 hit build with Usukane body, Rajas, Brutal Earring, Chivalrous Chain and Ecphoria Ring while subbing /sam (total of +29 STP), but doing so really isn't worth it. Although if Hasso worked with Footwork it'd be on par with mnk/war... Alas.
Path answered the legwear question.
To make Footwork really work damage-wise you need to be able to regularly create skillchain damage where you wouldn't be doing so before.
Aside: It is interesting to note the amount of TP you give to the mob with the 7 hit build. With Rajas Ring and Melee Gloves, in the time it takes you to weaponskill (including the weaponskill itself) you give the mob less than 47 TP. Standard mnk melee would be about 110. A sam with a 6 hit build gives the mob about 82 TP per weaponskill. Drg/sam would be 92. Thf/nin would be over 150.

If anyone cares to math it out, is there someway to fit Cobra hands into a 6 hit with footwork? As much as I love my Bando's, they're not a terrible down grade from them. If they provided a 6 hit I might actually make an effort to get them.

Man, fuck Footwork. I'll stick to spamming Asuran Fists over Dragon Kick, only way DK is even good is with a massive VIT/STR build with /thf and 300% tp with footwork. :/
Maybe if SE made Dragon Kick actually worth using, sure, I'd be game for a 6-hit setup on MNK. Till then, I'll stick with AF.

Rockon: You could get a 7-hit with Rajas + Brutal + C.Chain or Ecphoria Ring + Cobra Mittens. You can only get a 6-hit build by subbing /sam and having Usukane body + Rajas + 3 more (so Cobra Mittens, or Brutal + C.Chain + Ecphoria).
Of course since H2H weaponskills are all 2 hit, that's sort of like getting a 6 hit/5 hit build setup as a 2h user. Depends on exactly what you mean with "6 hit".

I mean it from WS but I guess it does go either way depending on how you interpret it. 7 Hits from 0 to 100 is still pretty good though. Might be useful on something like Ixion or mobs you don't want getting a bunch of TP.
