First off I would like to introduce myself to the wonderful Alexander server. I played this game about 2-3 years ago on the Leviathan server and things seemed much different back then. I am currently a level 15 Black Mage Tarutaru seeking a party in the dunes, and I have to wait nearly an hour to find a party. I realize this is because most of you have achieved high levels and are doing endgame stuff. My problem is, as a skilled newbie, I am finding it way more difficult this time around to find parties. What I want from you are words of encouragement. Should I keep playing in hopes that it will get better the higher I level? Or are new players to FFXI uber-gimped. Please excuse my leet speak. Anyways my thanks goes out to anyone reading this post and helping out. You are the type of people that make this game fun.

P.S. I played before Aht Urgen and Wings of the Goddess. So any major changes relating to these expansions I would like to know.

P.P.S. I am an intelligent player and I am not looking for help but I am researching this site as well as Allakazham. Thank you.

Just keep seeking. With that damned level sync, a party will come along sooner or later. I find seeking less painful now, but skill ups are a pain in the ass.

Last update SE on top of lvl sync also changed the amount of xp gained by killing ep mobs. So you can probably make decent xp in la thien killing worms while you seek. Whatever you do, dont give up. Things may be difficult at first, but thats how FFXI weeds out the wuseys things do pick up when you hit qufim lvls, and you can easily solo gigas pets for very nice xp then also.
