FFXI Vs. WoW???
QUOTE (Arrowwin @ Dec 2 2008, 12:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
its so obvious wow is the game to play and people who play ffxi are simply playing it because they started it first and they got attached its like those stupid old people who wont give up their $25 a month aol accounts because its just what they are used to and they might try something else and decide its just to different then they go back to their stupid aol so all in all anyone who plays ffxi is a stupid old peerson with aol. lol
sorry i kinda get worked up since i started hating ffxi after realizing i couldnt do a darn thing if i was going to be on for less than 2 hours. i have friends and other things i want to do and hopefully a girlfriend soon! lol thats a story for the lounge so i wont go into that here.
all in all wow is better and if you think otherwise you are stuborn and havent wayed all of the pros and cons .

Well he clearly represents the general WoW population quite well.

So, yeah, moron aside... what's this about "new players"? I know I was trying to play over a holiday weekend, but my server seems bloody dead, particularly at the low levels. Trying to get my Scholar and Summoner up makes me want to stab myself in the eyes (20 and 17 respectively right now).

Well, I'm sure the trial lured some old people back (and new too). At least few threads pop up on more popular forums every day about coming back or considering about starting again.. I dunno if it's always been like that but that's what seems to be happening right now.

How about this.
Flame Wars.
Who would win?
Arrowwin or DERFtheGalka.
Loser gets banned.

I can't see Derf in a fight for some reason.

SE needs to advertise more outside of Japan, otherwise this system probably wont be expanded upon after its implementation. And there are too many other activities taking up higher level players time, leaving very little free time to hop on a low level job and level in ghetto areas just to get Treasure Caskets. Best case scenario; SE will start advertising more (like Blizzard does for WoW), and high level players will level sync in old areas for the rewards from Caskets, if they're any good.
I wont have an LS when I come back since it broke while I was gone, so I might level sync in a lower level area just so I can see a Casket or two.

WoW trolls on FFXI forums... if only they'd just shut up...
i wonder if strong advertising will work with FFXI anymore.. its not like a normal game, and i suppose advertising for MMORPGs come with distinct cycles.. I think they'd usually renew advertising or focus more on advertising with new expansions... as was the case with WotG (that was around the time www.finalfantasyxi.com came up i think)... the rest of the time I think they're doing well with players recommending friends.. and the free trial thing helps that even more..
I also doubt they'd strengthen advertising when the new expansion scenarios hit. Thing is.. conventional advertising is expensive and I doubt it'll have much effect considering this is a 6 year old game.

Hey jackass. Wanna hear a funny story? FFXI had tresure chests before WoW was out. Did you forget about Chests and Coffers or have you just not played this game before?

Seems to be really well suited to people who've leveled BST.
1- We solo, meaning the casket if it pops claimed... goes to you, and only you.
2-We don't have decent exp spots at 75 other then places in the older areas.
Could rock, could suck. Wait and find out. ~.^

SE could add Ridills and dalmaticas to treasure chests and people would still find a way to bitch about it. Why not just be happy that they are adding something. Seems people are never happy with anything.. well at least most people.. I can see some who are optimistic about it. I praise those people and find anyone who bashes SE b4 they even implement it in-game very childish.

Uh whats the point of putting in shit no one will use?
Thats what they are bitching about. Content for .01% of the player base. Who fucking cares if they add 5 million things to do if they arent fun and useless for lvl 75s?

Alright lemme guess.. the players at levels 1-74? Nowadays... the trial players? I know it's a crazy thought, to add something for the ".01%" (can we exaggerate a little more pleaaase? 0.0001% sounds reasonable) after being neglected for years. I hope SE will get to their senses soon

Right because there are places lvl 74s go to level in vinalla FFXI areas.
Dont be a jack ass, you know the levels I mean. Its almost possible to skip vinalla areas completly. Not to mention after what? 50? You never go back to them. Well for leveling atleast.
How many people do you know that do not have a char over lvl 50? None? I know I dont. Its not like troves of new players are getting into this game either. If all this is is low level crap, about 3 people will get use out of it. This isnt an answer for low levels to finally have content because every low lvl either quit the game, or is level 75.
The game has become a lvl 75 playground. This is what happens when MMOs get old. Its it that crazy that the mass populous of the game wants content they can use? "No guys sorry!! There are still 2 people who dont have their sub jobs! We need to help them!!!"

Yeah, because there isn't a way to adjust your level to go back to older areas... Oh wait...

I'm sure only ever doing endgame stuff is a great way to meet people without level 75 jobs.
