Hello everyone. I'm coming back to FF after a 1 year or so break....I've been reading up on PLD alot and I wanted to start PLD....So here's my question, Pro's and Con's of being a Tarutaru PLD. Obvious pro = MP con = health....any help will be greatly appreciated.

Really, race hardly matters for any job. Just balance out your faults with gear. A.K.A. A cassie earring will help a taru PLD, but I dont think it would be 100% necessary. Really, skill and gear (skill, mostly) come before race, so as long as you learn to play well you'll be fine.

Sweet. Thanks. Any tips for me as a taru pld lol?

Well, for any PLD in general, up to level... 50ish, I'd say doing Flash >> JA (Sentinel or Shield Bash) >> Voke will give you quite a bit of hate. Keep using flash and voke as they become available.
For taru PLD, HP and VIT gear are gewd until around 55 when you should start focusing on DD and defensive stats like everyone else.

If you can, try to hit DD gear as soon as possible. Level 40 is a good mark for a lot of DD gear of variety. I know a lot of plds started DDing around this stage. Me personally started as soon as I could equip my sword, I went into a DD mentality asap. It works for some, not for others.
Personally I think its the best route, and only suffers if you are over camping. And imo I dont think its the DD pld style that suffers in overcamping but the party over all, as they cant kill fast enough, and generally its mobs that are pretty nasty, crawlers and beetle types basically.
Once you start hitting youre gear will change a little, with a bit more defensive stats, like HP with some vit, generally, these items will be used because they carry a good amount of enmity, not for the vit. Like gallant and valor bodies. Funny enough, the rest of you gear will look about the same, just replacing some DD pieces with pieces with haste and Enmity.

Stickies aren't worth reading?
Oh they are, I would just rather get various opinions other than just 1.

This is the right answer.
As a Tarutaru PLD myself, my only tip is to not let others put you down about your race. Most people seem to think that because you're a Taru you're a rubbish tank which normally isn't true.

I have yet to meet a good Tarutaru Paladin. It has nothing to do with the inherent shortcomings of the race, though.

Learn to manage your MP!
Flash + Cure puller if he sucks + Voke = mob hate you long time if you keep up flash and voke.
So does learning to use SB and Sentinel at the proper times.
Learn to love the taru death pose... hehe tarus just go splat
Galka are food not friends
wow the same advice I'd give to any race. Manage MP manage JAs and try to love watching tarus die...
And sadly most taru plds aren't that good at managing their MP. I always tell myself its because they think they're WHMs and try to main heal or are just too scared of using too much MP to cure themselves...

Think of using your job abilities in a scheduled rotation.
The worst thing you could do is firing off all your job abilities at once and be useless on the second monster because of recast timers.
As for loading up on DD gear, my advice would be to never touch Defender if you're going /war.
The only reason to use Defender is to neutralize Berserk with a macro press and buy you time to remove both of them manually. (ex. Berserk>WS>Defender>Drop Ber/Def)

Oh, a good tip would be to merit chivalry and invest in a decent MND set. Going from 20 MP to full mp instantly is awesome.

I think this may be because there are less of them than the other races. The more players with a certain race/job, the higher chance there will be GOOD players amongst them as well.
