[Saniiro]

Well, first off and introduction.

I'm Academia (Phoenix, formerly Odin), formerly Saniiro (Garuda)/Garyuu (Fenrir)/Rowe (Phoenix), and some others I probably can't think of.

I've be conceptualizing a tribute video as a sort of thank you to the FFXI Dev team for all of the years of fun (and frustration) this game has given me. (Been around off and on since DEC 03)

Recently after listening to various podcasts (Limit Break Radio ftw) from FanFest 08, I decided it was time I get this project on the roll.

I've decided on a song, and I'm looking for assistance with bringing this project to fruition (hopefully) by FanFest 09 as a way of thanking the guys behind it all. I've been listening to Limit Break Radio, Pet Food Alpha, Level Down as other such podcasts and as my interest in the game slowly starts to decipate I've decided i need to try and find a way to revitalize my love for it.

I'm wanting to illustrate how much this game means to me, and I'd very much like for others to be a part of that.

Basic Project Overview~

It is going to be an action-packed music video animated using either original animation or 3D animations derived from the ingame graphics (improved for better visuals, of course.) The song I've chosen is "Kurayaminokumo" by the Black Mages (From 'The Black Mages III -- Darkness and Starlight').

Essentially will be about 6-7 minutes long, and be a massive showcase of all of the jobs, several bosses and areas in an anime-intro esque fashion. Imagine if you will, the introduction or credit roll for Fullmetal Alchemist (or similar anime.)

I'm currently listening to "Kurayaminokumo" over and over and constructing a choreography script for the animators to follow. What I'm looking for right now is people who are talented enough in either 3D animation or traditional animation to help actually construct and edit the video once the script is completed. I will also be needing voice actors who are (at least) capable of properly pronouncing phrases in Japanese.

I'm planning to incorporate a lot of action and humor, as well as a lot of "if it were real" style representations of job abilities and game mechanics; this includes but is not limited to: skill chains/magic bursts, Utsusemi, Provoke, Perfect Dodge, chocobo raising, Besieged, weddings, and much more.

It's a pretty lofty project, but I think with enough contribution from talented, dedicated people we can achieve something exceedingly great. I want it to be good enough to leave the Devs in tears! ( maybe we can weasel some relics out of them for the effort. lol)
