Well I love dancer. I love to play dnc and I love to be dnc. The thing is I try to merit on it or really anything and it dosnt happen. I try seeking for 3 days straight and I got no exp invites. That is alot of time out of my life to waste. On top of that whenever I go on any runs or anything I am always told to change off dnc. My dynamis ls's and end game ls's will not allow me to come dnc. So the only real times I ever get to use dnc is when I solo or do campain. Which is very lame but it is very fun when I go to help with a nm or somthing and people dont expect dnc to be of any use. But then once the ninja's go down dancer gets its chance to shine and main tanks. Not dieing for 10x longer then the ninja would have stayed alive for sure if not more. So really people need to realize dnc is a great job. Where even in a merit pt if you have a good group a dancer can main heal. For those who would like to disapgree on my ninja and dancer comment. Just know my main is ninja.

Yeah dancer is a great support for nm, but eaven after you show them how good you can be, the next minute they are going to be like wow dnc is awesome now lets go get ten merits, but will need to replace the dancer

Well then I am definatly going to hang around you for some invites. But yes you are very right about the people replacing the dnc.
I do not like to play my ninja so much because. It is just a very stressfull job to play. I mean I can play dancer for hours. But ninja I am done after an hour. Plus my dancer is almost done but still a work in progess. So I do not want to use it untill its perfect.

Yes you are right and I agree with both of you. I do not think it is so much a pervert thing. But all I know is there are alot more people on this site who give answers like that then actual answers. No offence to anyone that is just the way I saw it when I was on this site in the past.

Personally, I'm very selective when it comes to merit pt's. Being that my main is BRD, I can. I typically only PT with LS or close friends. The reason being that, when I want to merit, that is exactly what i want to do. Mediocre merit pt's are not worth the time. Now I'm not saying Dnc has nothing to offer a merit pt. In fact some of the best merit pt's ive been in have been setup with 4 support jobs and 2 godly war's. Typically we do this setup with rdm brd brd cor war war. Cor can hold it's own dd-wise, and offers an exp bonus. I have in fact never merited with a dancer, but what do you bring to the PT? Can DNC's hold their own with Dancing Edge? I don't see a great selection of ws gear for dnc, compared to other dd's anyway... Why don't you make your own PT's, instead of whining on KI forums? I could easily see replacing the healer with 2 Dnc's in such a setup. DNC DNC BRD BRD WAR WAR or w/e. Or grab some friends, go to sea, or any other number of merit camps where you can play your job without an elitist merit pt cunt like me, going "this xp sucks! <disband>" and have your fun there.

Well on the topic can dancers hold their own with dancing edge. Dancer gets two job abilitys that enhance its weapon skill which makes that a yes if used. First you use 3 finishing moves to do a flourish that enhances its dammage then the second one gives it a self skillchain so like Ill do a 800 dmg dancing edge then have a 600 skillchain dammage.

lol welcome to the world of 75 dnc.
ive been 75 since february and not once have i gone too an event on it.

even with 10% more haste to weapons, cures for 700, evas down, def down, mdef down, erase, etc we still are better suited for smaller soloish parties.
the enhanced stun effect on af2 body -might- make a small nitch for us to do 15 second stuns with no foot rise giving free steps, but even thats situationally beneficial (love to see a SS of someone stunning GoH).
fan dance is great but won't replace any plds or nins, saber dance adds a bit more dmg but still we scratch at enemies

With nin/war + thf/nin and dnc/nin we can merit in Lufaise Medows on birds and get a damn good amount of exp. Anyone who says dnc aint any good is biased and has no idea what he talking about.

Dnc is just fine. Has nothing to do with dnc being good or bad its just that there is better and people these day only want optimal.

note: um list merits put toward it too cuz was kinda looking for info on how to work out merits for dnc

I know how you feel my shell always asks me to come on my other jobs for events. Luckily when we have enough heavy DD or mage support I get to go on Dnc and they dont seem to mind on limbus, dynamis and ZNM. I guess it's hard to gauge how much we bring to the table since we dont do direct buffs like cor and brd do but we still function just the same. Lower mob def and evade rather than raising attack and acc not to mention on par with bard march effect on weapon dely.

Merit wise I think Dnc make a great addition to merit parties especially on birds. I rarely get the chance to merit on Dnc unless I'm with LS mates. I'm always with a rdm that barely need my support to heal so I'm almost always on DD (almost full time SaberDance). I find myself pulling hate just on dot alone with saber dance and i definitely rip hate off some of the DDs. My damage doesnt spike as high as my sam or ranger but I think I can hold my own on a DD spot.

All parties where I've been a DD have been RDM BRD DNC DDx3 set up. I'm sure those numbers have at least 1 DA proc (pretty common with saber dance up) and hangs around 900-1k without. There's room for improvement on some equipment slots but my average WS is pretty consistent. Depending on the situation I use reverse like usual but sometimes I tend to step > BF > step build tp > WS. I always use BF except when I do a back to back WS. 5/5 haste and reverse merits. 1 each on saber fan and close postion so far.
