FFXI Error Codes

Please post error codes here so we get a compiled list of them. I may add possible solutions to each error code, if there are any.

LM-11 and LM-17
Temporary ban for 3 days to a week. Both may now mean permanent ban.
LM-16
Please review fees paid.
LM-21
Unpaid fees.
LM-60
Reactivate content ID.

Please make sure that Microsoft Network Client is installed in your PC. To check this,
Open Network in the Control Panel. If you don't see the Microsoft Network Client on the list,
it is not installed. To install, follow the steps below:

1. Open Network in Control Panel and select "Add."
2. From Network Components, select "Client" and then "Add."
3. From Network Client, select "Manufacturer: Microsoft" and "Network Client:
Microsoft Network Client" and select "OK" to start installing.
4. Restart your PC and run FINAL FANTASY XI.


FFXI-2003



Receiving this error could mean that the file association between the PlayOnline Viewer and FINAL FANTASY XI is not working properly. Please try reinstalling FINAL FANTASY XI to resolve the issue.
If you cannot uninstall FINAL FANTASY XI, this is likely due to an issue with the registry information in your OS.
In that case, you may need to reinstall your OS.
Square Enix will be unable to assist you with any loss of data or damage to hardware due to reinstalling your Operating System.
Please refer to your PC manual or contact the customer support of your PC manufacturer for assistance with O.S. reinstallation.

*If you are using Windows2000, Windows XP, or Windows Vista, you will need to be logged in with administrator rights upon install or uninstall.
*Reinstalling your OS will result in a loss of data and the reformatting of your hard drive. Be sure to back up any important data prior to the reinstallation process.

POL-0250

Call your router's 1-800 tech support number, they'll walk
you through the setup and configuration. Give them this info:

Using a Router
PlayOnline (including all related software such as FINAL FANTASY XI)
may use any of the following ports. If you are using a router, please configure
it to allow packets to pass through these ports.

+ Port numbers that may be used by the PlayOnline server group:
-TCP 25, 80, 110, 443 or 50000 - 65535
-UDP 50000 - 65535

Also have them open (forwarded) the DirectX ports used by most other games:

POL-12321

Occurs when pressing the "Play" button on the FINAL FANTASY XI top page.

[Solution]
1. Please choose and run the "Uninstall Software" from the PlayOnline Viewer's disc menu.
2. After the uninstall is complete, please re-run FINAL FANTASY XI.
3. Since when FINAL FANTASY XI is restarted, the PlayOnline Viewer will be installed, please follow the instructions for installation.

FFXI-3116

Cannot select this character.
Character's content ID is no longer valid.
Please restore the content ID to select this character.


Try checking the Contend ID status and going from there.

POL-0020 (ps2)
Your DNS is not responding

Error fixed.

I held my routers reset button for 10 seconds. This gave me a new IP which worked in POL.

POL-5314

You have to link your POL ID with your gametag.
If you already assigned another gametag to it, you need to use that one.

100 Series: Processing (Server) Errors
DNAS - 101 (Authentication Error)
  • DNAS Server is busy. Try to re-connect later.
DNAS - 102 (Authentication Error)
  • DNAS authentication service period has not started for this title. This software title has not begun its online services.
DNAS - 103 (Authentication Error)
  • DNAS authentication service period has ended for this title. This software title has ended its online services.
DNAS - 104 (Authentication Error)
  • All DNAS online services have ended. All DNAS services have stopped.
DNAS - 105 (Authentication Error)
  • DNAS online session timed out, retrying (auto retry). Session Timeout.
DNAS - 106 (Authentication Error)
  • DNAS Library received an invalid server response. The DNAS server is not responding normally. Try to reconnect later.
DNAS - 107 (Authentication Error)
  • DNAS library internal error while authentication DNAS server. The DNAS server is not responding normally. Try to reconnect later.
DNAS - 108 (Authentication Error)
  • The DNAS server is not responding normally. Reconnect later. DNAS server received corrupted data.
DNAS - 109 (Authentication Error)
  • (Not an error, auto retry). The PS2 has changed HDDs since the last DNAS session.
DNAS - 110 (Authentication Error)
  • The DNAS server is not responding normally. Try to reconnect later. This is a DNAS Server Issue.
200 Series: Data Download Errors
DNAS - 201
  • This title does not have a data download service.
DNAS - 202
  • Data download service has not started for this title.
DNAS - 203
  • Data download service has ended for this title.
DNAS - 204
  • No new download data.
300 Series: Data Upload Errors
DNAS - 301
  • This title does not have a data upload service.
DNAS - 302
  • Data upload service has not started for this title.
DNAS - 303
  • Data upload service has ended for this title.
400 Series: Software Library Errors
DNAS - 401 (Authentication Error)
  • A machine information error has been detected. Invalid PS2 Hardware. Please write down the error code number, and contact Customer Service at 1-866-466-5333.
DNAS - 402 (Authentication Error)
  • A machine information error has been detected. Invalid Disc. Possible modification chip installed in unit. Try to connect again later. There may be congestion, or issues with the ISP/server.
DNAS - 403 (Authentication Error)
  • A machine information error has been detected. Invalid or corrupted disc authentication data. Please attempt to clean the disc or try another copy of the disc
DNAS - 404 (Authentication Error)
  • Current PS2 and HDD combination is different than registered. Reformat the HDD and reinstall all software.
500 Series

600 Series: Network Communication Errors
DNAS - 601 (Communication Error)
  • A communication error has been detected. A network connection was aborted. Please double-check your network connection and/or network configuration. try again later.
DNAS - 610 (Communication Error)
  • A communication error has been detected. Please double-check your network connection and/or network configuration.
DNAS - 611 (Communication Error)
  • A communication error has been detected. The DNS resolver did not recognize the DNAS server host name.
DNAS - 612 (Communication Error)
  • A communication error has been detected. The DNS resolver cannot be found.
DNAS - 613 (Communication Error)
  • A communication error has been detected. The DNS resolver response is invalid.
DNAS - 614 (Communication Error)
  • A communication error has been detected. The DNS resolver found no IP address for the DNAS server host name.
DNAS - 615 (Communication Error)
  • A communication error has been detected. Other DNS resolver-related errors.
DNAS - 616 (Communication Error)
  • A communication error has been detected. A server connection already exists from this client IP address.
DNAS - 617 (Communication Error)
  • A communication error has been detected. A network timeout occurred.
DNAS - 618 (Communication Error)
  • A communication error has been detected. The connection was refused (the server is not running).
DNAS - 619 (Communication Error)
  • A communication error has been detected. The network destination is unreachable.

800 Series: Console Errors
DNAS - 809 (Authentication Error)
  • DNAS Server Issue. There may be a temporary issue, and to try connecting again later.
DNAS - 833 (Authentication Error)
  • Console error. Please write down the error code number, and contact Customer Service at 1-866-466-5333.
DNAS - 880 (Authentication Error)
  • Console error. Please write down the error code number, and contact Customer Service at 1-866-466-5333.

at first Lm-17 was temp but guess they FUUUUUSSSIIIONNNN it with perma now lol

With the major bannings recently, I decided to combine both.

A lot of those who had LM-17 for temp bans were changed to LM-11 for permanent ban. The problem there is that the player would not know if their account is at risk of being moved to LM-11 since SE likes to be super-secretive in their investigations.

So, when one gets LM-17, consider it a temp ban for at minimum 3 days or 72 hours. The maximum according to players I've spoken with is 7 days. The periods of temp bans according to a ToS change sometime last year will be 3, 5, or 7 days depending on the severity of the violation. During the time of your temp ban, consider the possibility you may or may not be permanently banned from the game, thus an LM-11.

Also, repeated offenses or violations of the ToS, and this includes warnings of harassment of players, may earn you "strikes" on your account. SE however doesn't follow the "three strikes, you're out" deal. I know one person with two strikes as told to him from a GM. On his second strike, he was perma-banned. Another player had one strike on his account and was immediately banned. Therefore, just keep that in mind.
