First off, I apologize for the copy-pasta job on this. I originally posted on BG since they had a random thread there on COR, but I should have just started here.
So without further ado:
I'm going to be hitting 70 soon (66 as of now), and I have a joyeus waiting for me when I ding. My issue is I'm a tad lost as to what to what gear I should actually have for melee at 70. I've done a load of searching, and have only found TP sets for when you're 75.
One thing I have seen over and over again, is that if you don't have sword merits (which I don't) your best best is to stock up on the acc gear.
This is my TP gear as of now for /ra, and what I think may work at 70:
Archer's knife (I know, this should've been upgraded ><) -->> Joyeus
Matchlock gun -->> Martial gun @ 72
Iron bullets/Steel bullets -->> same
Corsair's Tricorne -->> Ohat
PCC -->> same
Beater's Earring/Drone -->> Spike?
Corsair's Frac -->> SH
Deadeye Gloves -->> War gloves??
Scorpion ring+1 -->> snipers x2
Amemet+1 -->> same
Gun Belt -->> Life belt (wish me luck on my swift belt run in 2 weeks)
Jaridah Salvers -->> ???
Corsair's Bottes -->> ???
I know cobra unit hands and legs would be pretty spiffy at 70, but I don't think there is any possibility of me having that anytime soon.
What did you guys use, or what would you suggest for melee gear?
Melee gear @ 70 now with booze goodness

Doesn't look too bad. For ammo if you're only going to use bullets when you WS just fulltime Steel Bullets.
For legs, Pahluwan is good if you can get it, if not a Cobrua Subliagar is nice since it gives Store TP, Accuarcy, and - Enmity. However it looks pretty gay on males.
For feet, Tabin Feet +1 are pricey, but give +3 Accuracy. You can get Cobra Unit feet to, they give accuracy, and store TP as well.

I good investment over Matchlock is Basilisk imho if you can get it. =D
I got one, I feel it was a good buy.
Yes War Gloves. I used them when I melee and macro Dead eye in Slugshot.

Unfortunately, as far as the Pahluwan set goes, the body piece is more of a priority for me so the legs would have to wait. Due to that, would republigar work until 72 when I could switch them out for dusk or is that just completely laughable?
And back to the Cobra Unit items. Those would be awesome, but by the time I have enough points/rank to purchase them I'm sure I'll be 75.

The setup you posted is pretty strong.
Earring options are pretty limited even at 75, so I think spike would be acceptable. Diabolos's earring would provide a little extra accuracy if that's a possibility for you. Suppanomimi is awesome at 72 if you've finished Divine Might and don't need another earring for a different job. I personally use suppa and ethereal, which for the purposes of COR melee is just a fancy spike anyway.
War gloves are a good option. I used dusk for a while but recently switched back to war because I still needed more accuracy. They're also cheap as hell, which is a nice break for you.
Swift belt is a good option when you get it, but still watch your accuracy...no point missing 4% faster if you don't have enough accuracy.
For legs, pahluwan is pretty sweet but I also focused on body and haven't gone back to get the legs yet. I use vendor's slops, which are available to you at 71. They're pretty unremarkable, but they work.
Feet is also a pretty bad slot for melee. Right now I use AF, which provides no useful benefits really, simply because there's nothing else to use. Some people use dusk feet, but I felt for me I could better use the money on that elsewhere. Once you get sea and do limbus, AF+1 feet become a good option. But other than that I don't really know what to recommend.
Hope that helps.

For legs Denali Kecks are a very nice investment for COR. 3 DEX, 3 AGI, 3 Acc, 3 R acc, and they even have 3 MAB & 3 M acc for Quick Draw. You could main them in your leg slot easily for TP & WS until you got a better piece.
Feet: I used Denali Gamashes (+5 Acc) until I got my Commodore's Bottes( +3 DEX, +5 Acc).
You have a very good start though.

Life belt makes precise belt useless for melee TP.

It's still a decent buyable belt to macro in for WS if you need R.ACC and aren't /RNG or don't have Gun Belt/Buccaneer's/Commodore

I'm not arguing with you there, but I question the relevance of that in this topic. Well, not that we've been keeping on topic much on this forum lately, anyways, but still.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I typically save my forum time for when I'm at work
But thank you guys very much for all of the suggestions. Glad to know that once I do manage to hit 70, I'll be pretty well prepared. Earrings are going to be a pain in the ass though since I don't have access to any of the higher-level choices (suppa, ethereal, brutal, etc) as of yet.
I've just started trying my luck with denali pieces, but the SE gods are hating me so far. On the plus side, I level at a snail's pace and so I should have plenty of chances to get a piece or two before I need them.
And rum is good stuff. <3 the SoCo also. Mmm.

SoCo is trash. Lime doesn't help, either. Patron Silver or you're gimp.

Now Patron has potential, although shots aren't my favourite thing in the world and normally end up buying cheap shit for mixed drinks.
I suggest making Grey Goose Sours or Jack & Coke then.

How do you make the sours?
And the last time I had JD was probably 10 years ago when I had the ingenious idea to mix some with my Wendy's Frosty.
It was horrrrrible to say the least. Jack & Coke sounds good and easy though.
One of my favourite drinks is a fuzzy dew. 2 shots peach schnapps, 2 shots vodka, and mountain dew. It's obviously sweet as hell, and if you're male it may make you question your manliness, but it's quite tasty.

How do you make the sours?
You can usually buy sour mix at liquor stores (it's used to make amaretto sours, vodka sours, midori sours, and anything else sours), but the traditional recipe is one shot vodka, half a shot of lemon juice, and a squirt of sugar syrup, served on the rocks.

I prefer close to 50/50 for Jack & Coke. Also try Red Bull with vodka (also 50/50).
