I've done this guy a few times now and I've tried a few different combos of options. WAR isn't as merited yet as I'd like to get him, he's relatively new to 75, and as well all know my highly merited BLM or MNK aren't on the menu for Ixion, so I'm trying to reach my potential on my WAR.
What I do have is 3 warrior charge, 3 g axe and 2 each bergressor. I've been doing WAR/THF and sata war charge steel cyclone and when war charge isn't up I still use sata cyclone. Should I try Raging Rush between war charges?
As far as gear goes I've tried a few options.
Head I'm either using Genbu hat or O hat.
Body is hauby+1 or Osode.
Hands are Alky braclets, 4th gauntlets or Dusk.
Neck is PCC or Chiv chain
Ears.. i've tried so many combos of these I don't even remembe.. Fowling, Assault, Bushi blah blah
Ranged is bomblet or bomb core
Waist is potent or warwolf
legs are kitty pants or exorcist hose
feet are hume M boots or Unicorn
back is amemet or Smilodon +1s
best I've done so far is only like 1600 and most of mine seem to do between 800-1100.
Oh and for weapon I'm using Martial for the TP bonus on cyclone but I have a berserker axe and i should get a byakko axe next time we go there. I know Perdu is good but I'm lackin on Assault buddies to go with so I'm not 2nd Lieutenant yet.
Any suggestions to break 2k? lol Or at least make 1500+ more consistent?

Dark Ixion what have you learned?

MNK/THF does quite well if you feel your MNK is better equipped. You'll just need to use footwork and have a set for Dragon Kick.
I wouldn't say MNK or WAR are the ideal jobs for Ixi; a good RNG can usually do a lot better.
In my experience, big numbers usually mean you're dead, and if you're dead, you're doing 0 damage. Sure, 2k damage is fun and all, but (IMO) your job is to do as much sustained damage as possible without dying. Sooo many people in my past LS, would spend 10+ minutes trying to build 300tp, so they can die after a 1500+ WS. Personally, I use WAR/SAM. Between meditate, 6-hit, I can gain TP twice as fast as just about everyone else, and Steel Cyclone for 600-800 (1k DA) @100tp. On top of it all, third-eye saved me numerous times while fighting Ixi. Raise TP as fast as you can, WS at 100 as quick (and safely) as possible THEN work on raising your average WS damage at 100tp.
In the words of Nny, "it's not about big numbers!" Yes, I've read this board since I was a baby WAR. lol
In your case, don't bother with Smilodon mantle, and just use Byakko's over Exorcist for accuracy on possible DA. Work on getting Aqua (or Snow) gorget!!!
My Steel Cyclone setup is as follows:
Main: Martial Bhuj
Sub: Pole Grip
Ammo: Fire Bomblet
Head: Hecatomb cap
Neck: Aqua gorget
Ear1: Assault earring
Ear2: Brutal earring
Body: Haubergeon +1
Hands: Alkyoneus' bracelets
Ring1: Rajas ring
Ring2: Flame ring
Back: Forager's mantle
Waist: Warrior's stone
Legs: Warrior's cuisses
Feet: Hecatomb leggings
Food: Usually Hedgehog pie... or whatever I have on me at the time.

I prefer /THF to /SAM because you can TP up on the nearby weak mobs anyway.
If you're trying to get the most use out of Warrior's Charge you could equip Perdu/Byakko's as it takes around 5min to get 300tp on /THF (Also handy since you can Flee back to DI every time). I wouldn't waste my time with Raging Rush.
I've learnt not to go for WS when it does the lightning charge up animation ._.
Use the items in bold for SA WS
PS: I don't know if you meant it but don't bother using Trick Attack because it just wastes time and it's near impossible to line up when you have a clear shot of not getting hit.

I never tp to 300, I stop on the mob I break 100 on. Most of the time the DDs don't take hate off the plds unless 2k+.. in fact last time we spanked the pony we used 2 plds and everyone sata'd, worked pretty well. Might try the MNK thing since I have more h2h merits but I'll have to ask if that's alright lol
And I subbed sam once and was so ashamed of all the 300-500 ish dmg ws's I swore I never would again lol

Fought this thing maybe 60+ times now and 1 thing confues me about Meowwies post. You say Third Eye has saved you many times when it has never once proc'd for me and I've never seen it proc for any of our Sam's either, I'll have to watch more closely though because heaven't really payed attention since I noticed them not procing months ago.
Personally I'd go /Thf, but when it's in Fort-kuroNuango(sp) LS leader makes us /Sam since no mobs to build TP on.(Which pisses me off because I just build TP on DI anyways)
I'd say Byte.Xi had it nailed down on your gear choices for SA WS's though.
When we fight depending on who our tanks are sometimes whe have a tank in the rear sometimes they both just tank in the front, which means after too many WS's sometimes the melee pull too much hate and eat the dust as a result of it.
Hitting 2k+ WS's isn't going to happen that often, probably the only time you'll do it is at 300% TP, the only time I ever get 300% TP for this fight is at the beggining, I Store TP on my way to him so I can open with a Perdu Volgue WS then I switch to my M.Bhuj. Average at 100% is 1K+ with no buffs or songs and 1200-1400+ with buffs or songs.
You have to pay great attention during this fight to not die though, have to watch for his animations and run away from everything, Rampant Stance and Archeron kick are the hardest to avoid because he doesn't really have a charge animation for them but they are avoidable. This is more so if you chose to build TP on him though, and watch for his "Aura" mode because he does everything almost tice in a row.
My SC set up.
M.Bhuj (Perdu for opening WS)
Pole Grip
Bomb Core
N.Head
Snow Gorget
Brutal/Triumph Earring
Ares Cuirass
Alky Bracelets
Rajas/Flame
Cerb Mantle
Warwolf Belt
Byakko's(I know SSR won't put out for me
)
Hecatomb
Even though on real bad days where I'm not really paying attention I might die like 6 times or so, this is a fun fight so enjoy it.

Sub /SAM and TP on Ixion....it does much more damage overall.
Yes, you can TP on Ixion.

Yeah, TPing on Ixion is a great way to speed up the fight.
What alot of people don't realize about DI is that it doesn't gain TP for its WSs from hitting/being hit by the tank/melee.
Rather, they're on a specific timer and it uses them every ~15 seconds reguardless of how much TP he would/should have accumulated.
Basically this means you can have as much melee on him as you want without fear of it making him spam WSs because of all the TP you're feeding him.
Also, as far as evading his TP moves go, in my experience Acheron Kick and Rampant Stance are by far the easiest ones to avoid every time.
I assume most people use windower unless they don't play on PC, and as long as you stand more than 5 yalms away from DI while TPing
you'll never get hit by Acheron Kick. Rampant Stance only has a range of ~7.5 yalms, so if you're already at the max melee range you need
only take a step or two back to avoid taking damage. The magical damage AoEs have a much larger range and I never know which one he's
about to do because I have it filtered, so as soon as I see the electricity building I simply run to about ~21 yalms and that's always far enough
to avoid the damage.
As far as what sub to use, I usually /THF and have a RDM or BRD in my party run down and take a SATA once I start pulling hate from only using SA.
Then, once said RDM or BRD begins to pull hate from my SATAs, I continue to SATA them until they die. Better them than me I always say.

Pretty sure Rampant Stance is 10.0 with Distance plugin, I might be wrong though, haven't fought Ixion on WAR in months.

Rampart Stance is 10. I would see the gain from TPing off DI but the constant evading his TP moves and when he's on his purply phase makes me want to not consider it and barrage it with a bunch of RNGs.

Dark Ixion's TP pattern is usually obvious enough to avoid 90% of it's attacks when TPing on it /SAM. I prefer /SAM a lot more than /THF because you'll stay alive more often. If you try to pull off big numbers constantly, you're going to pull hate... and you WILL die. Just pay attention to when it uses Weapon Skills, and avoid staying on it for more than 2-3~ seconds at a time, normally. (I kept movement+% on for this fight, and took off Dusk).
Killing Ixion fast is about staying alive and dealing out consistent damage. Even as sub sam, I could pull off anywhere from 300-900 (well over 1000 too, but not very often, and usually only on 300%) based on DA and buffs on a Steel Cyclone, as a Taru with fairly decent gear and meat dishes. I would not really advise using Raging Rush on it, as your numbers will be pretty random (and terrible) if you do not have enough accuracy to compliment it.
I didn't read any other post, so if they say the same thing, sorry. This just about sums up my experience with it. Big flashy numbers are great, but in the end they just get you killed and waste time. P.S. trample sucks.

Being Hit/Bound -> Trampled -> Dead.
^ Third Eye has saved me from this many times, in the event that I do get hate. You're correct if you're thinking that it doesn't save you from TP moves.
I swap to Hermes' sandals as WS animation triggers to avoid the stomp and kick.
