nah but what you could do is:

use Light Skillchains on the Jailer of Love, which will cure him and see if it weakens AV as a result... i.e show love some love and see what happens...

If so many people weren't misunderstanding what's being said or throw being f**king morons and giving out obviously retarded ideas (aka trolling), it'd be a lot easier to solve this mystery. But since trolls will always exist and people will always misunderstand...keep trying...maybe SE will feel sorry for us after FFXIV is released >.>

using light skillchains on the jailer of love, which cures the monster, in attempt to see if affects the status of AV in the capacity of its vit/def rating or AI behavior is not as a retarded as an idea of killing X amount of Jailer of Loves pet sets to affect AV... at this point any reasonable idea that hasn't been tested is better than the ones that came before.

I find it quite amusing how all this shit has apparently completely veiled the fact that locking AV's abilities has long ceased to be a mystery.

The only thing that I can actually see that is a little out of the normal for the Squenix info video is the fact that they seemed to simply scroll through the different elements for nukes:
Starting of course with Thunder > Blizzard > ect. Not only the blackmages are casting it, but redmages are casting tier 1's (I don't see it being able to do anything significant damage, so the actual reason for this makes me question it.)
Another thing, I think they actually used 4-6 sets of parties of 6, all with relatively the same setup, or possibly just subbed a good amount of people in at times.
It looks like for each time he uses one of the 2hrs, the parties who were fighting it had an assigned group of people to all use their 2hr's whether or not its the one he used: and it is composed of the 2hour abilities that would more than likely be the most threat to everyone. (Soul voice, Chainspell, Manafont, ect.)
If organized correctly, and the "Locking" does exist, possibly with the torque or w/e the new theory happens to be.
Maybe there is a way to set it up so the parties can fully benefit from the 2hr's they are somewhat "wasting" and turn it for their advantage even if it doesn't lock.
It's pretty obvious there's not much to support the ability to burn AV, the real trick is surviving long enough.
I propose maybe the idea of having 4 sets of each of the "scary" 2hr's he can pop, having them ready to 2hr at the time that he does, while keeping the damage going, tanks not dieing and of course heals solid.
It could just be that the coordination for this isn't so much based around burst damage, or trying to guarantee a lock; but surviving, keeping hate, dealing enough damage, and if you manage to lock set 2hr by the set groups 2hr'ing at key points it can be considered a perk and or advancement for the theories of this fight.
Idk, I could be completely full of shit, I just haven't ever posted on this topic before, and I felt like doing what research I could to toss in my 2 cents.
Either way, GL and maybe someone will figure it out before 14 is released.

SE have already announced that it can be done with 18 people. Other than that, what you were saying didn't seem half bad...

As far as I can tell in the videos the only thing they seem to be hinting at is elemental affinity. I was thinking that its not so much the torques as the corresponding elemental ability. There are elemental colors associated with abilities IE Provoke = "Fire" based ability at least according to the JA icon next to it in the menu. Maybe its "acitivate corresponding elemental job abilities/2hrs" which do something to AV possibly locking 2hrs. I know for example that Hundred Fists is lightining based as far as the color of the icon goes, so maybe if AV pops another 2hr that has a lighting based element to it those who pop that ability have a chance/or do lock AV's abilities/2hrs.

This was my though considering there seems to be a lot of emphasis on current elemental day and what spells are casts to keep him weakend.
As far as I can tel here's a list of the 2hr affinities.

Mighty Strikes - Fire
Benedicition - Light
Chainspell - Thunder
Invincebile - Earth
Familiar - Light
Eagle Eye Shot - Thunder
Mijin Gakure - Fire
Astral Flow - Light
Wild Card - Light
Trance - Light
Manafont - Water
Perfect Dodge - Wind
Blood Weapon - Dark
Soul Voice - Light
Meikyo Shisui - Water
Call Wyvern - Light
Azure Lore - Light
Overdrive - Light
Tabular Rasa - I havent unlocked scholar

The text log does not match up 100% with this theory but then again there is evidence that the elements tie in very closely to what AV does and can do.
It still boggles my mind about the time and day during the fight. It always zooms in when a 2hr is used, and multiple times the time goes back and forth with people using the same 2hr multiple times within minutes it seems. Also they seemt only cast enfeeblements of light and dark and nukes according to day. I keep looking at the video thinking Im missing something but I still dont know what that is yet.

along with the information from right here at bluegartr, i came up with this, which actually after searching the net to make sure this hasn't already been done, is on the to-do list for AV strategy. so in essence it really does just boil down to people having the urge to try it. anyway, here's my chart and explanation.

Posted Image

this is a time line of the video we received from SE, which is actually mapped out better (day/time wise) in the BG post. Nuke according to the elemental day and in succession, i.e. bliz 1 > 2 > 3 > 4. you can see the players doing this in the video. it might look like they're doing it out of order but you have to remember, 1 will cast way faster than 4 so why not start 4 now and then pop the others.

AV does no special actions and the purpose of these first couple frames is to emphasize the elemental magic corresponding to the elemental day. Soul Voice is used by AV and the players start to spam their 2hr's. the brd's use their soul voice to stop AV from continuing to use his although you do catch him use virelai right before the video cuts. Next Chainspell is used and 2hrs are popped until chainspell is used by a player. you can also see that the blm popum used manafont twice in the same day (lightningday) to assume that somehow you will be able to use 2hr's more than once every 2hr. same thing again, Call Wyvern is met with the DRG's 2hr and you can see the blm popum use manafont AGAIN, a third time.

With the bracelets on you can see the BLM doing no damage and no elemental magic dmg inflicted on AV dispite the thunder to finish him, RDM/NIN's up close meleeing with a darkstaff, one PLD turned away and the other tanking, a THF running in the background, a DRK, SAM and a DRG that comes in late. i assume it's still lightningday since thunder is used to knock him out. i don't understand the significance of the RDM meleeing but wierd enough, by the time he dies he didn't use comet or meteor of what we're shown.

Fannie, a little earlier when the wyvnav's popped, cast diaga on them and ran. you can see Fannie if you look closely in the video, the little taru with the red af2 hat who uses FLEE, indicating that she's setup as whm/thf, huh!? kiting purposes i assume, however, later at the end the thf appears to be mithra.

well in recognizing the elemental correlation you must ask your self..

is the trick matching the element or using its opposite?
