WAR DEX Build Kinda Lengthy

I was checking random people out on ffxiah.com and saw that someone had posted a setup for a DEX build for their WAR. They have Bravura so I guess it is slightly different from what I could reasonably attain so lemme toss the setup out real quick before I throw some questions out.
Main- Perdu Voulge
Sub- Brave Grip/Claymore Grip
Range- Lightning Bow +1
Ammo-
Head- Askar Zucchetto
Neck- Fortitude Torque (Ideal would be Ancient Torque)
Ear1- Hollow Earring
Ear2- Brutal Earring
Body- Adaberk
Hands- Askar Manoples
Ring1- Thunder Ring
Ring2- Rajas Ring
Back- Cuchlain's Mantle
Waist- Speed Belt
Legs- Byakko's Haidate
Feet- Aurum Sabatons
This runs you at ~56 DEX provided you use and 19% Haste. I'm not counting Ancient Torque in the +DEX total because its pretty dang rare and expensive.
My questions are:
-Has anyone done this kind of build to this extent and if so what was the result vs. a standard max haste build for tp/dmg.
-Brave Grip v Claymore Grip- Would the increased crit% or increased crit damage benefit you more? From my understanding 8 DEX is roughly equivalent to 1% crit. Taking a base crit% of lets say 10% and tacking another 7% on and increasing crit dmg (17% crit rate) vs. a 20% crit rate. The 10% base is by no means a set %, its just a number for making this a little more understandable for me more than likely. smile.gif
-Does Brave Grip add a set amount of extra damage or is it like an extra .1 to the pDif or whatever random variable it is named

To my knowledge there is not a crit cap. I'd imagine that the crit cap were there one would be well over 20% considering the enourmous amount of crits a average geared WAR or THF can get at 75 killing robber crabs if there even is one. Pure speculation though on my part at this point, thus the questions lol. I'll do this if anyone else hasn't, I guess it could be my contribution to WAR forums. I just need to pick up a few pieces of that gear.

100% with mighty strikes.

Edit to be useful: This is the kind of setup Rid/Joy users would use at birds, idk how much crit it would give them, but iirc it was about 30% on birds? Wouldn't be as useful with Gaxe since it hits slower but I guess its viable.

I did a quick check and its ~+47 DEX using a dual sword setup. (Counted out Hollow and put in Suppanomimi and swapped out L.Bow +1 for a Bomblet to account for the loss in accuracy to make this a bit more viable in a merit party). I also sadly perused Alla for topics of this nature and all I saw was a robber crab test that was undefinative (that's not a real word but w/e) at best. I don't have a Ridill either, but I figure a Organics/Joytoy setup would be a comparable test.

With Org/Joy you will want to use Suppa/Brutal, whereas with Rid/Joy you can swap out the Brutal for a Pixie or Hollow for more DEX. To be honest though, outside of lolBirds, there really seems to be little use for it.

I've though about doing it before, just lacking a few pieces of gear. I have 0 Askar pieces so would have to wait till I can get those and missing Pixie Earring for now, seeing as how Hollow out of the question. I had worked it out before on paper where I'd only be sacrificing 2% Haste and would gain a huge amount of Dex for it.

Here http://www.bluegartrls.com/forum/ffxi-stan...tical-hits.html this has some theories and testing about Dex. Says the high cap on crits is 20%, and to attain that you would have to have 50 more Dex then a mobs AGI.

Not sure how it would work out parser wise but I'll try it whenever Askar does drop for me. I'm not too sure I'd bother changing my grip though, 2%DA goes a long way, the only time I'd consider it was if I absolutely needed that little extra Dex to put me over the tier.

The above post is correct. The relationship between Dex and Crit hit rate appears to be piecewise linear, with a low-slope (low crit+% per Dex) equation giving way to a high-slope (high crit+% per dex) equation at ~35-40 Dex above the target's AGI.

In general, I feel crit hit builds aren't worth it for 2-handers because they slow down your TP gain and reduce your WS frequency. With WSs being a large part of our damage, I don't feel it's worth it for the increase that crits give to a well-geared WAR with minuets/meat/etc. Even assuming each crit averages an extra 50% damage over a normal hit, +15% crit rate still is only a +7.5% increase in damage. I don't know, it would need to be parsed. Here is the build I'd suggest for it though:
http://www.ffxiah.com/item_sets.php?id=31866
Pretty normal attack, a little extra accuracy, capped Haste, 10% lower base damage than Perdu but higher WS frequency.

Word on the street is that Brave grip is shit, and unless you're at very low attack values and not WSing at 100TP, Pole Grip is going to be better than Claymore Strap. King's Justice can't crit, but it can Double Attack. Double Attacks give extra TP. Double Attacks can crit. Double Attacks are a 100% increase in damage compared to a normal single swing.

I guess a lot would be dependant on what you're fighting, not really sure about mobs and their AGI would have to look into that first. Could bump up Dex even more with Cuch/Pixie(or howling)/Ancient Torque.

Shouldn't really have an ACC problem with all the extra Dex, it's just wether or not it'd be worth it. Like I say I'd love to try it and parse differences but would have to wait for Askar Head and a Pixie and would also have to look into merit mobs and their AGI for the different levels.

Thanks for all the inputs, I'll get to putting up a comparison as soon as I can grab the Askar hands and hat. I probably won't have the Cuch Mantle any time soon, but it should be a fairly close comparison regardless of that minor deficiency.
Thanks also for the Rune Chopper idea, I hadn't even considered using that since for the most part Perdu Voulge is vastly superior.
