Besides fighting in close combat like a Warrior, these divine knights have also studied White Mage to become this hybrid class known as Paladin.

Gallant Leggings
This piece of armor consists of two separate parts, leggings and knee guards. The knees also have a special ornamental attachment.
Gallant Gauntlets
Mythril platemail covers the forearm and fingers on these gauntlets. The individual fingers allow for small, delicate movements.
Gallant Coronet
An ornamental headpiece, which is gorgeously decorated on the front. A coronet is a jeweled crown usually worn by the nobility, while gallant is a term describing a knight character.
Gallant Breeches
These breeches are designed to guard the legs. They are comprised of a brown undergarment with armor pieces on top, and are easy to move around in. The pieces around the knee are decorated with engravings.
Gallant Surcoat
Knights usually wear formal coats over their armor. A Paladin surcoat is beautifully embroidered with golden thread. Of course, they are still protected underneath with chainmail.
Pride of the Knights

At the fountain in Northern San d'Oria, there stands a small boy named Ailbeche, who casually asks a favor. His father is Exoroche, the commanding officer of the Royal Kngihts. Ever since Exoroche lost a loved one to the Orcs, he has ceased his training and wiled away the days in the armor shop. Ailbeche has become disappointed in his father and needs an adventurer to infiltrate the Royal Knights on his behalf. But wait, is there someone within their ranks colluding with the Orcs!?
Follow Prince Trion orders and find the whereabouts of Chursarlaud, the former Royal Knight suspected of treason!!
Balasiel

Balasiel is a white-haired elder who stands beside the tower in Southern San d'Oria Watchdog Alley. From there, he puts all adventurers who seek the honor of knighthood through a series of trials. Originally, he tested the Royal Knights themselves, and was the one who appointed Rahal S Lebrart to his current leadership position. Today, he searches through the pool of adventurers for those of exceptional talent. His trials are by no means overcome through power alone; one must surpass a variety of tasks testing their mettle, proving not just the strength of their sword, but of their shield as well. Balasiel strongly believes that a sword that kills cannot match the importance of a shield that protects.
Abilities
Invincible
Invincible is a Paladin greatest secret technique. It allows the Paladin to become invulnerable to enemy attack, while simultaneously drawing the enemy away from their comrades. Although it has no power against magical attacks, it is still their most important ability.
Holy Circle
This ability gives an Undead Killer effect that allows one to fight more effectively against undead monsters such as skeletons and ghosts. It manifests as a circular barrier, which bestows this power upon the Paladin and all party members who stand within it.
Cover
When an enemy is targeting the Paladin party member, they can use this ability to protect them and receive the enemy attack in their place.
Shield Bash
With this technique, a Paladin uses the symbol of their knighthood, the shield, to strike the enemy. This action combines their offense and defense capabilities into one unique ability.
Flash
This spell releases an intense flash of light that robs the enemy of their sight. Paladins use this magic frequently to protect their comrades from harm and draw the enemy hate to them.
Weapons and Armor
Save the Queen
Save the Queen was the sword carried by Queen Marelinne R d'Oraguille personal bodyguard; a Royal Knight who was by her side till the moment of her death. The sword represents the undying loyalty displayed by her ward, and has been tempered by the countless times it was wielded to save the Queen from harm.
(Marelinne R d'Oraguille was born in the year 557, and ruled San d'Oria from 568, until she was pronounced deceased in 588. Her profile in the book appeared in the Vana'diel Tribune and can be read by following her link. However, the English version inexplicably leaves out several details (and paragraphs).
She married ~Count Phildenan~ of Tavnazia in the year 580. Also, her alleged death was the result of a shipwreck against the ~Ashak Mountains~, which are believed to be in Norvallen, in the year 586. Authorities searched for her body for two years, with no success.)
Gluttony Sword
This ominous longsword from the depths of Eldeime, bears the name Gluttony, one of the Seven Deadly Sins. The sword thirst for blood gives it ferocious power, but it also takes its toll on the owner.
Koenig Shield
Using a General Shield as a base, adamantium sheets are used to reinforce this shield. Finally, it is inlaid with golden patterns that symbolize the power of life, creating an extravagant piece of work that truly deserves to be called King's Shield.¯
Gold Armet
This armet is made from glittering white cermet. (A armet is a helmet that completely covers the head and face.) The edges are decorated in gold so as to be easily seen during parades, in which they are often worn. This style helmet is also standard issue for members of the Iron Musketeers.
