Spellcast for a Qufim job, I lol'd.

Hello Dancers!
I usually don't post on your forum but I saw this and was curious:
How do you make a text file? I am on PC and never knew I could do this or know how.
Can someone help me with directions on how to make one?
Thanks again!

/ja "Curing waltz II" <stpc>
/console exec dnc_chr.txt
/wait 2
/console exec dnc_att.txt
You just need to make 2 txt files, dnc_chr.txt is for your Chr setup and dnc_att.txt is for your normal att gears, works like a charm for me.

it's the basis of Windower macros. if you don't use the unofficial windower, they aren't possible. If you DO use the unofficial windower, I highly recommend spellcast instead. It's more efficient, seamless, and *IMO* easier to setup.
Also... what's wrong w/ making a spellcast xml for a job that you're leveling even while in qufim? Even with only a handful of gear changes, it's still going to be more efficient than any other means of changing gear. Not to mention... it's easier to build an XML from scratch when there is very little you need to put into it. I myself would rather start with a small XML and build it up than be forced to make a monster XML right off the bat. My THF XML is STILL not finished because of this.

I do use the official windower so that means I can't do it?

in order to use either windower macros or spellcast, you must use the UN-official windower.

Here is a way cooler way to do it(and the way i use) and you use a combination of game mechanics and simple windower scripts.
/ta <st>
/console exec (Name you so choose to name your CHR swap gear).txt
/ja "Curing Waltz" <lastst>
/wait 1
/console exec (Name you so choose to name your gear set you want to change back to).txt
so you select target with /ta <st> (note: you will not swap into your chr gear until you select target)
swap to your CHR gear
and waltz on your st (<lastst> takes the last selected target and performs the action on it you specified on it)
swap back
/ta <st>
/console exec (Name you so choose to name your CHR swap gear).txt
/ja "Curing Waltz" <lastst>
/wait 1
/console exec (Name you so choose to name your gear set you want to change back to).txt
so you select target with /ta <st> (note: you will not swap into your chr gear until you select target)
swap to your CHR gear
and waltz on your st (<lastst> takes the last selected target and performs the action on it you specified on it)
swap back

Or like I said before... you can just use spellcast and avoid all those large bulky macros and simply have /ja "Curing Waltz" <st> in your macro

is <stpt> a windower thing or something they put into the normal game?

. . .
Dude I really hope that your avatar is just something you thought looked cool, if you're a WHM you should be ashamed to an extreme degree that you missed the updated that totally negated the need for healers to use blinkmenot and tanks to avoid gearswaps.
To answer your question;
STPT and STAL are subtargets that reside on your party list, as if you were setting quartermaster or removing someone from the party. There is no above-head cursor, thusly it is not affected by gearswaps. STPT is limited to your party, STAL is limited to your alliance.
This was a normal FFXI update I would say 6 months or more ago, and has nothing to do with windower. It's DD and Tanks talisman against the evils of retarded mage complaints about gearswaps, we can now rightfully tell healers to shut the fuck up and learn to play when they bitch that we died because we blinked.
