So i'm in a really great Sky shell and i just got my Byakko's Haidate (woot!hellzmofoinyeah!!!!) and i was wondering which piece of sky gear i should try to get next? I have enough points to lot about anything that drops (Besides KO which I'll have enough points for in a day or 2) May be a stupid question, just wanted some input =/ was debating mostly between Seiryu's Kote and like maybe shura body/head ? Any input would be appreciated.

It'd really help if you listed what other gear you have and, optionally, any other jobs that might be able to use sky drops.

In my opinion, shura body is pointless for ninja, but I base that on what gear I already have available for mine. Shura helm is nice for ninja, but I've had mine in my mog safe for about a year now until I can get my hands on a plus one. Seiryu's Kote are good for soloing or if you ever fool around with /rng and shuriken and don't have your AF+1 hands yet. Kirin's Osode is a pretty eye piece but I find that it's pointless to use outside of soloing or /dnc. In the end though, I'd say go with what you can get first. If your shell is fast and good in sky, you can easily get all the pieces you want from there within a few month period.

That list in that order. The Suzy boots are optional - they're only useful for a fire resist build, and if you have no aspirations of fighting Tiamat or Cerberus (or Sarameya, but NIN is a serious square peg/round hole choice for that), then you don't need them.

NIN doesn't need Osode. Except maybe for Blade: Ten. Which is a really stupid reason to waste points on an Osode. Unless you can sell it in Rolanmart.

However, SAM inherits most of NIN's DD gear, and Osode is the best WS piece for that job's 1 hit WSs, so you might eventually want to nab one should you decide to level it.

well let's see. Only other 75 job i have drg (which i have some heca wishlisted for) and my next will be WAR. (66atm) Only other sky gear i have is Genbu's Kabuto >.>

And as Far as what kinda gear i use on my nin (Off the top of my head) like

head : O-hat/Whalra
neck: ChivChain/Eva Torque
Ear: Suppa/Brutal/Erisx2/Elusive
Body: SH/Hauby/AF
Hands: H-kote/Dusk
Ring: Rajas/Sniper's/Flame
Back:Amemet+1/Boxers
waist: Warwolf/Swift
Legs: Byakko's
Feet: Fuma/Rutter
Ranged: FireBomblet (no one wants to kill ungur w/me -.-

And yeah I do realize that with my sky shell being good i'll get all good gear in time, just like having one too look for next lol

Well I'm just going to tell you everything you may possibly need from sky and the situations for them may they be minor or not.

Byakko haidate - Dex for Jin and Haste, only think close is usukane
Osode - Haub +1 is better for XP, but Osode is awesome for 1 hit WS's like Ten and for ballista.
Suzaku sune-ate - the fire resist+ for fighting HNM's such as Tiamat in the future. +15MND is good for mainly MNK Chi gear...
Seiryu Kotes - HP+ is always welcome not to mention the +AGI will help with soloing substantially. There are better main gloves for NIN though for maining.
Shura Togi - Sure, it looks cooler then a Haub. Good for future expeditions for MNK and SAM if you choose to go that path.
Shura Kabuto - I personally use it for WS's The ACC and STR combo tends to up my damage on normal EXP mobs.
Genbu's kabuto - With Whalhra around now it's not used much but the +water def may help with mobs like aspid (I know you dont need it) but meh the defense is nice. Complete the god gear is a good reason >_>;


Basically all shura and god gear has atleast some purpose for NIN (minus shura hands I know...). I recommend just getting it all now so you don't have to return to sky for for one of these items in the future that you don't seem very important now... Suzaku sune-ate - +50HP if you seek the +HP route

Suzy boots are good in your oshit set, as they have the highest defence rating that ninja can equip in this slot.


And I disagree with the byakkos vs usukane legs. For ninja, its not even close.

and Suzy boots don't have HP+50...

Seiryu Kote are nice for soloing, but Dusk have +25 HP so they're only a 25 boost over them and you'd want to use them for DDing or tanking probably.

Also, I could be crazy and wrong, but I use Shura Haidate for Jin. The Abj also drops off Byakko though, so you can get one if you so desire and do Sky regularly.

Usukane Hizayoroi are fine if you don't have Byakko's Haidate. For some people the former is a lot easier to get. I imagine the only other case you'd ever bother wearing Hizayoroi are if you have the full Usukane set, in which case I think it'd be worth tossing that 3-4% haste for all the stats the set gives you.

Seiryu's Kote is only worth getting IMO if you like starting fights with spirit's within or you are a Taru. Rasetsu or Usukane give more evasion. The only other use I imagine it has is if you want to go parry-skilling, though I've honestly never seen any significant impact on parry frequency even when I stack a shitton of AGI.

Suzaku's Sune-Ate are lawl. But seeing as how everyone wants to get Captain eventually, you could use them on Black Shuck! =P

Osode is nice for erm...level sync areas. It also looks pretty cool.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure if you wanted to do a blood-tanking setup for when your shadows are dead, Denali Wristbands are better.

I'd be inclined to use Usukane Hizayoroi for Blade: Jin, but I've not yet leveled Ninja high enough to question the value of Attack versus a huge chunk of DEX for that weaponskill. I couldn't speak to Shura Haidate on that subject.

I Found Suzaku's Sune-ate very helpful back in the day vs Tiamat fights. It's a vital part for a fire+ build. Without a +50 fire resistance you might find Timmy's fireballs alot more painful. And your overall fire+ gear may be ineffective.

I use Suzaku's Sune-ate in my Fire resist and Oshit build as I have yet to find any Darksteel leggings+1 or try to get them crafted.

As for Blade: Jin, I'd probably stick with Byakko's on merit mobs and the likes and use Usukane on weaker things.

Well obviously I meant outside of Fire resistance sets, heh. Doesn't sound like OP is planning on doing anything outside of Black Shuck where you'd need one, which is why I mentioned that.

If u can get some friends together to help you fight the znm for hissho hachimaki that would b better and easier and cheaper than shura head.Imo there really is no better leg piece than byakko haidate for jin but id also like to add i think u r really splitting hairs between usukane legs and b haidate.Shura haidate for jin doesnt make much sense since the dex on b haidate would equal the acc from shura yea ud b missing the str but is 5 str as good as 15 dex i think not plus shura aint cheap.I got shura haidate thinkin it would b cool but in the end it was a waste of gil lol.
