In their merger with Enix, they got Dragon Quest, a franchise which has had lucrative results for them.
What the hell would SE get from either Tecmo or Eidos? I Supposed in the case of Tecmo, they would have garnered rights to a lot of classics that SE could release (since they love that) as well as DoA and Ninja Gaiden, but Eidos? I guess Tomb Raider and Conan... But after that, what else?

Eidos did the FFVII port to the computer.
My guess would be revenge.

SE don't let your pure blood be tainted by scummy companies like Eidos! Fuck Conan, Fuck Tomb Raider, Fuck Legacy of Kain, Fuck Deus Ex, Fuck Fear Effect, Fuck Kane and Lynch, Fuck Thief. But be gentle with that last one.

Actually, SE might do well with a full-blown Conan RPG, now that I think about it. Hmmm... Actually, this might work.

SE is the Japanese version of EA games.
Irony: SE and EA partnered up on several projects in the late 90's. Chief among them were FFVIII and FFIX.

All of the titles you listed with the exception of Kane and Lynch are solid, hmmm.

Except Tomb Raider has been faltering for some time now. It's never really recovered since they killed Lara at the end of Last Revelation, only to bring her back a game later. Angel of Darkness didn't do as well, then Legend brought things back a little, but Underworld didn't to as well as they hoped (it really wasn't much different than Legend, and they've really removed to much of the fighting, and what remains is way to easy. If you die in a fight in the most recent 2 Tomb Raiders, you might as well just turn off the game and kill yourself. The only plausible way to die is in one of the puzzles. And don't get me wrong, the puzzles are great and require some thought, but most of the time there's no urgency to actually solve them). Tomb Raider was solid for a long time, but they're making to many mistakes with it right now. The graphics are pretty... but the story and exploration is suffering lately. Legend and Underworld should have been just 1 game. They should have knocked out the whole Lara's Mom and Avalon story all at once. Underworld was a good concept... but they just didn't take it far enough.

Not to thrown gasoline into the fire, but...
Hasn't SE owned Eidos for several years now? SE helps publish a lot of game companies, even though most of them they don't put their logo on.

No, they haven't. SE bought Eidos just before Batman: AA was released.
That's nothing, you should see what I do to people who point out the obvious, you jack wagon.
